'No one has died of Ebola in the U.S. before': Outraged family eyes lawsuit...
The London Daily Mail ^ | October 9, 2014 | Josh Gardner and Michael Zennie and Laura Collins In Dallas, Texas

Posted on 10/08/2014 11:24:48 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

* Thomas Eric Duncan died at 7:51am on Wednesday after receiving no potentially lifesaving blood transfusion or ZMapp

* Five other Ebola patients treated in the U.S. are either cured or in the process of being treated

* Doctors began giving Duncan an experimental antiviral drug on Monday, but it was too late

* Hospital announced 'with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment' that Duncan died after 'fighting courageously against the insidious disease'

* Duncan exposed 48 people to the disease before he was hospitalized, including his fiancée and two of her children

* His condition took a turn for the worse this weekend and by Tuesday he was unresponsive and medically sedated

* His body still carries the disease and must now be disposed of

* CDC rules call for his remains to be wrapped in a plastic shroud and zipped up in two leak-proof bags then cremated

The family of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan are venting their outrage that the late Liberian may not have received the same quality of care leading up to his death Wednesday morning as other patients treated in the U.S. for the dreaded virus.

'No one has died of Ebola in the U.S. before. This is the first time,' Duncan's furious nephew Joe Weeks told ABC.

Weeks and others in Duncan's family are calling his treatment 'unfair,' after seeing other patients pulled from the brink of death in government funded evacuation planes and using life-saving blood transfusions and cutting edge drugs...

His sister visited him in Monrovia about a month before Duncan contracted the ebola from Marthalene Williams (pregnant 19 year old live-in daughter of his landlord) in Liberia. That would be about the amount of time for ebola to initially infect her, incubate in her and for her to become highly infectious.

He got his visa via his sister’s encouragement to see his past lover, who already had children and was living with another man in Dallas.

His visa arrived and he bought a round trip plane ticket 2 weeks before he apparently was infected, but the flight was scheduled only days after he was infected from a person who he likely would have assisted in gleaning medical attention.

Was this whole affair a setup by their family to get rich quick, using Duncan as a patsy?

Notice his sister and Joe Weeks from North Carolina, weren’t the ones welcoming him at the airport. They didn’t even drive up to Dulles to see him at the airport on his layover. Previously they were the only apparent semblance of family, having any basis in church attendance or reference to prayer or being married within his immediate relations by several generations.

This outrage seems to fly in the face of their appearances. It doesn’t fit the mindset of a devout family member. It does fit the mindset of somebody with ulterior motives, without any love for others, but arrogant appeal for themselves.

The awful truth here is that I have NOT A DOUBT IN MY MIND that this guy was not provided the same level of care as the other patients and allowed to die. The reason being... to set an example for the 100,000 infected people booking flights out of Ebolaland on Goatherder airlines... arriving in a city near you.

They’ll try suing the hospital for turning him away the first time. Unfortunately, the hospital lawyers will advise settling if only to stop the publicity and make them go away. Of course, the next million US patients will have that extra expense added into their bills. Bottom line, we’ll be paying them.

This is of course, assuming the family lives long enough to collect after being exposed to ebola.

Would it be wrong of me to wish exposure to ebole one those that seek to politicize this? My guess is that it would be the only way to shut them up. The next set of political hacks might not be so eager to join the fight (Al Sharpton) if Jessie Jackass and that judge (what's his name) become infected.

Only problem with my wish is that these political pimps would likely spread ebola to innocent people... God help us...

The family of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan are venting their outrage

Wow....maybe they are living in a bubble, but I'll guarantee there is more outrage pointed in their direction than they could ever muster over what this man did to the US.

Ingrates.

If you or any or your loved ones has contracted Ebola and has died you may be entitled to a cash settlement. The American Medical Association along with the American Hospital Association were recently sued by the Texas Law Firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe, where of the $100 billion settlements 100 million dollars is available to claimants.

What a horrible way to die.

Lunacy. A Blood transfusion would have been a waste of the donated blood.

I'll bet he got many transfusions in addition to being hooked to the blood-cleaning machine.

He wasn’t “allowed to die.” Great efforts and many taxpayer dollars were expended on him. Remember, the US aid workers were diagnosed promptly in the countries in which they were working at the time and were already under treatment when they were brought back to the US. They were treated with ZMapp, and there aren’t any more supplies of that at the moment (probably just enough for Obama...). One of them was treated with something else IIRC, and not in Atlanta. Also, they were all doctors or people with some medical training or experience, and thus knew from the start how to aid in their own treatment.

Duncan died because the disease has a high fatality rate, he was pretty advanced in it by the time he got treatment, and there are just some times that medicine can’t win.

If you seriously think Obama or the CDC have any intention of trying to stop an influx from these countries, you’re wrong. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if, in addition to sending 4,000 of our troops there to be exposed, he orders some African patients brought here. Watch for it.

Because he told the staff he had come from Liberia.

His family says that he said "Liberia". The hospital says that he said "Africa".

$500K is the figure I read. Quite and investment, heh?

And just wait until the "invasion" from Central/S. America begins in earnest. Most working Americans will need to get another part-time job to cover medical expenses for these people.

These people need to stop bitching! If Duncan had died in Liberia, he would have died alone, on a muddy road. His last vision would have been that of a guy in a yellow hazmat suit hosing him down with disinfectant. Instead, he died in as pleasant surroundings as humanly possible. To the tone of $500K taxpayer dollars!
