Rosie O'Donnell may have worried about the threat of "radical Christianity," but Ben Affleck's defense of Islam thrilled The View host on Monday, prompting her to tout the actor as a presidential candidate. O'Donnell and her co-hosts were discussing the verbal battle from Friday's Real Time. Atheist Maher called out his fellow liberals for not standing up to militant Islam.
O'Donnell praised, "I was listening to Ben Affleck and every single thing he said, I agreed with...I wrote on my Twitter 'Ben Affleck for president.'" [MP3 audio here.] The comedienne then explained what the actor's words meant to her: "Fundamentalists on the whole all believe in some common things: that women are second class citizens. That gays are evil, that violence is okay if my side does it since I speak for God."

O'Donnell insisted that Christians, Muslims, Jews and other faiths "have all the traits in common called fundamentalism."[continued]

When it comes to hitting the point Rosie couldn’t hit herself in the ass with a coal shovel. Furthermore, why should anyone with at least one neuron still firing give a damn what she thinks. As to Ben’s comment, clearly he knows a lot more “moderate Muslims” that still have vocal chords working than I do. When you ask for moderate Muslims to speak out against radical Islam, all you hear is crickets.
She obviously has no concept of the different forms of fundamentalism, especially when it concerns Islam.
Yeah, but just ask him to produce any of those moderates he claims exist. Likely that more crickets will speak up.
Affleck must be delighted to get Rosie’s endorsement.
