Many people are up in arms about President Obama saluting his Marine retainers with a coffee cup in his right hand.
I'm going to defend Obama. It was IMPOSSIBLE for him to switch the cup into his left hand.
(We'll note here that Obama was drinking with his right hand - even though he's left-handed.)

I am right handed, I wipe my butt with my right hand because if I used my left hand it would get get S##T all over myself and do a “crappy” unsanitary job. I also used TOILET PAPER and not some damned rock to scratch the dingle-berries off my unmentionable parts.
Also I used something called SOAP and WATER to wash the aforementioned right hand and then dry it after several rinses...
Apparently when you behave like an animal you have to reserve one body part as a trash dump in order to attempt not to get crap all over everywhere...
Instead of civilized people who do the “Lavos Los Manos” soap and water thing...

and of course, it's a lot easier to carry a coffee cup with your "opposite" hand than it is to fasten a button!
Not that that's any excuse...
I also heard that the President is not obligated to return a salute if his hands are full (to paraphrase the "official" language).
I could be wrong about both those "facts" though!
And a civilized person would have remembered about the Marines (or whoever they are) being there when he disembarked, and would NOT have his hands unnecessarily full!! He should've either buttoned his jacket before coming out to the steps, or stopped buttoning, taken the coffee in his left hand, and saluted back with his right.

I was stunned by the contrast between Reagan and Obama. This should be the textbook example of leadership vs. “leading from behind.” (Apparently, leading from behind is a synonym for not leading at all...the idea of “leading” being that you’re in front.)
