The question I've always wondered... do I really love this life here on earth so much that when the anti-christ comes and we can't do commerce... or when our country is nuked and all of civil society completely fails... or any of these great apocalyptic events that people extreme prep for.... well do I really love this world so much that I want to live through that here? My treasure is in heaven. Store up your treasure in heaven.

My wife is an organized person. She has a couple of months worth of food in the pantry just because that is the way she was raised. But ultimately... I'm probably not interested in living through the "mad max" world of the apocalypse.

We have an eternity with God. Why would a few years of surviving the apocalypse be so important to us?

That's just my take on it...

I tend to agree with you. ‘Prepping’ is not a bad idea for short term disasters. Societal collapse is not short term. I question the quality of the life one wants to desperately preserve in a post-apocalyptic world. With all due respect, how long do people think their small band of well prepped and well armed survivors will last in a world full of huge numbers of raiders, especially armed ones? I think people have too much Hollywood imagery in their heads. If it does happen, it isn’t going to go like people think.
