Darren Wilson is a Hero!
American Thinker ^ | August 23, 2014 | David S. Whitley

As morality wanes in modern America, so too does clear thinking on the sensational issues of the day that distract us from what is truly important in the lives of a free people.

I'm seriously concerned for my country when my fellow conservatives begin to jump the tracks whenever the police clash with evil individuals or the rampaging hordes that often follow.

We should all be concerned about the loss of our freedoms, our liberties, the disregard for our Constitution by the elected, the rise of the police state, the lack of due process of citizens and the favoritism of the criminal illegal, and the lack of common sense we so often hear and see, but none of that is even in the same zip code with this Ferguson, Missouri. shooting of gang banger Michael Brown.

Anyone who rushes a police officer -- who is in the process of barking instructions, like "freeze" -- needs to realize that doing so can and will and most often should result in a bullet turning your coconut into a canoe. There is no reason whatsoever for the public to be second guessing what happened in Ferguson, Missouri. None!

When conservatives and libertarians start sounding like the race hustlers and the Occupy Wall Street crowd while commenting on the blogs and on the opinion pages, America is in trouble. Some conservatives are starting to sound like the radical progressive college students of the 1960s. Are we now looking up to Bill Ayers? Will we resist with bombs of our own? Will we get the attention of the Leviathan with a little property damage? This thinking is not only dangerous, it is as immoral as how the state deals with a free people with abuses of its own....

Well there is one less mean ass “gentle giant” walking around the neighborhood terrorizing people in convenience stores.

Comment? Well, the definition of hero has become quite diluted. A cop doing his job is now considered one? True heroism is a rare thing, but all and sundry can now be heroes simply by doing the necessary.

Anyways, I agree with the article but find it interesting how everyone is considered a hero nowadays. The chap who threw himself on a grenade to save his mates - that's a hero. The guy who jumped onto rail tracks to rescue someone who was a stranger - that's a hero. Wilson? No, not really.

Missouri law relating to a police officer's use of deadly force.

Hero, probably not, but a guy doing a tough job, in a place where many stupid people view you as an enemy, and from all that I can tell doing that job adequately.

I’ve attended the funeral services of many heroes over the years. They gave their lives for this country. To me, they are the heroes.

Well whether Wilson is a hero I don’t know.

But there is one thing I am certain of—the people trying to lynch him are the exact opposite of heroes, they are disgusting and vile human garbage and the worst this country has to offer.

The cop may not be a hero, but he is nearly the last of a dying breed.

In the future, fewer and fewer white officers will accept the personal and legal risks involved with arresting or detaining Black suspects.

And Black suspects everywhere know it.

In the next few years, hundreds of completely innocent people will be murdered by violent Black males who would have been in jail before Ferguson, MO, and Trayvon Martin.

It's very bad to beat an armed cop in the head.

That's something we should all learn from this story.

So please don't beat cops in the head - especially when they have guns.

While Wilson probably saved a lot of others some grief in the future, it's hard to term someone defending their own life a hero. Now, if there had been a kitten or puppy involved, the "hero" term would be most apt.

I think Wilson did what any sane person would do under similar circumstances, he met deadly force with deadly force and preserved his own life.

Darren Wilson is not a hero....he is a victim of a rush to judgment mentality of the current administration. Ever since Obama took office, he has continually made asinine comments prematurely without knowing the facts. And several of these comments have involved police officer conduct. We put police officers on the street to maintain peace. Sure some of them are bad apples just like in any profession. But when you are on the street on a daily basis to control the thugs, you must have the ability to defend yourself, otherwise you don’t get to go home to your family after your work shift.

I’m told that when in a dynamic situation involving guns, rarely do you shoot straight. You’re lucky to get a few rounds off esp if the guy is rushing you from within 50 feet. I think those of us here who have been following this story know this.

Okay having said that, it sounds like Wilson was indeed a bit of a rarity himself, because as Brown charged him, he shot him four times in the right arm, but the guy kept coming.

Is it possible that the Wilson could be that poised, ie could a hit a rushing bull of guy four times purposely in the arm, then drop him with the two fatal shots?

I would have shot that thug, too.
Maybe dropping more of these bastards will cause some of them to think twice about being "gangsta" wannabe's.

White is not right!

Black and Brown have come to town!

Dont try to fight.

Just shut up and sit down!

6 times while a guy rushes 35 feet. How long does it take to run 35 feet? I guess maybe a little longer if you got bullets bouncing off of you. I think we’re getting closer to the whole, real story. But we’re not there yet.

After being nearly beat unconscious and having a broken eye socket?

If the popular Bill Clinton can convince the American people the meaning of “is”, then I guess a redefinition of “hero” has long been in the works.

This is so true, but the American people lack the cranial capacity to comprehend.
