Sorry to hear about your dog....we literally just finished burying our Rottie an hour ago...luckily, she died peacefully in her sleep after 12 good years.

Know exactly how you’re feeling right now.

Thinking of you in his tough time. Been there numerous times and I sympathize.

She is now in heaven chasing bunnies with her sister ...

That is a beautiful image. I'm hoping my dear friends are doing the same.

It hurts a lot to lose a friend. She is lucky she had you to care for her all those years.

My cat died last year. I swear she was a ballerina in her last life. She lived until 21 years and in her last month she could hardly move. Up until then she was the flier. Almost indestructible.

It's one of those things that many of us dread to do.
We had to put our dog down almost 10 months ago from cancer.
I was there when we got the bad news and the attendant passed the tissue to my brother and I.
He stepped out the door and in the car while they put the last injection to stop his heart.
I was there when he died and his heart stopped.
Then ? 6 months later my mom died from complications of heart disease, kidney disease, and artery blockage in her colon.
All of this within 6 months.
It's never easy and the pain and loneliness takes time to heal.
But I was there for both of them when they died.

God love you. We lost our Maxwell, a dachshund, last September. He also was fifteen. So very well know what you are feeling. Prayers up.

I’ve been here and done this too many times in my life. I wish our doggie friends had longer lifespans. I would still be happy with my first black Lab Duke who died in my lap in 1997 at the ripe old age of 14.

Your grief will pass but your love for Sidney won’t. That is as it should be.

Once grief fades, the best thing to do IMHO is to get a new puppy and start the love cycle again.

Life w/o dogs is pretty boring.

Same thing happen to our dog, he could not hold his bowl movement, it was bloody, and my mom told me the last day he was alive he would not get up.
His spleen ruptured from a tumor.
He had cancer a few years ago where we had to pay thousands of dollars to operate.
But our dog was the joy of our life and he was worth it.
He was a all black German Shepherd.

You have a right to be sad - loyal dogs are one of God’s gifts to us.

My pets helped to remind me to chose to do what is right, and show a little more compassion for others. When a close to your soul pet goes for the last time, it leaves a ripping pain like no other. I’m sure Sidney felt the love in your home and in your lives.

All the animals were God’s gift to us. The dogs stuck with us after the fall.

So sorry to hear it. Its always tough to lose them. We just lost our Beagle Buddy at age 17 plus in March. We are still missing him and wishing him back. It takes awhile to get past it.
