Video: Beck invited historians David Barton and Larry Schweikart on the program to analyze what America can learn from tumultuous periods of history, and the two repeatedly warned that America is starting to view people as groups, rather than individuals, and doing so has been extremely destructive throughout history.
Thats where France was [in the 18th century]
and thats why they went through so many revolutions so quickly, Barton explained. Whoever won the first revolution, that was the enemy for the second revolution. The second group came in and said, Theyre not of our group, weve got to get rid of them. Same with the third revolution, every group thereafter. So they go for groups rather than individuality.
Good points made and I believe that’s FR’s own LS.
Could you ping LS - thanks
Thanks for posting. OUTSTANDING segment! HOORAY Larry! HOORAY David! HOORAY Glenn!
History/founders/education BUMP!
Congrats, LS! Love your books, and used them to homeschool my children!
Thanks all. I don’t agree with Barton that it was just one group vs the “last” group. It was the fundamental absence of Protestantim and Common Law.
Groupthink is un-American, as are all forms of political correctness. Keep up the great work, LS!
Good ones, thanks
Do you have any other clips from this show? Was this all I was in? Thanks.
This is the only video that I can find. The interview was fantastic! Kudos!
under the video on the blaze it says you can see the programs for the past 30 days for $1.00.
The article mentioned was from the blaze:

There is another article here:

They edited out the stuff where I strongly disagreed with Barton’s kumbaya message. The American political system was designed for combat and struggle. It was designed for friction, not for people to “get along.” If they wanted people to get along there would have been no separation of powers, checks and balances, staggered elections.
Everyone!
All of his books that I have purchased are keepers and well worth your time. Find them everywhere.

I would disagree with “Bartons kumbaya message” as well and in addition to the point you mentioned, I would add, that we are not sure we truly have elections with all the voter fraud and manipulation of voting results.
I am sorry they edited the video for the kumbaya message.
It is good that Beck covers history, but it needs to be truthful and unedited.
I don’t worry about fraud. Anyone who had studied elections in the 1800s know that fraud was at least ad bad then, if not worse.
