There’s another level of intrigue here. Travis County Democrats tied themselves in all sorts of ethical knots in their efforts to keep Lehmberg from losing her District Attorney job, even claiming that there was no violation of public trust for a sitting District Attorney to spend time in jail on a DWI conviction.
The reason the Democrats went to such extremes to keep Lehmberg’s job is because if she had been forced to resign or retire, the Governor of Texas would have been able to appoint the successor until the next general election. That would be none other than Rick Perry.
Perry would have naturally named a Republican for the post who would have then had access to tons of dirty documents meant for Democrat eyes only and could have abused the same indictment powers against Democrats the way Lehmberg and her predecessor, Ronnie Earle, have used them against Republicans.
Keep in mind that Ronnie Earle was the one who indicted Speaker Tom DeLay (convicted but overturned on appeal) and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (not convicted) and was also tied to false National Guard documents that Dan Rather used to try to steal the 2004 presidential election from George W. Bush.
As Paul Harvey said, now you know the rest of the story.
It is a well known axiom that any prosecutor can get a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich! An indictment is an ACCUSATION and is a perfect method for political assassination, as demonstrated by the Tom DeLay case, although that one went through to conviction before appellate overturn.
They(texas) needs to build a wall around that cesspool called Austin about 10 feet high and shoot the first bastard that climbs over it and everyone after that.
This is an old story in Travis county. The RAT D/A is just “Tom Delay-ing” the Governor.
Yes, perfect for a campaign ad. She should have just STFU.
I think this will make the Democrats look ridiculous. There is a video of the arrest of the DA for drunk driving, and it makes her look really, really bad. The video is easy to find, and it’s easy to see why Perry wanted her out. This charge is obviously political. It makes the Democrats look petty and mean-spirited. They are using the law to achieve a political end. And unlike the case of Tom Delay, it’s obvious what they are doing, and they look like amateurs.
FYI: Off topic pings!
Liberal witch hunt indeed!

Lehmberg......hmmmm
Best news of the week. He is a RINO and if this helps him to NOT run again for President than I thank the state of Texas.
I just decided to watch KXAN news yesterday evening, and some reporter (0 and holder's brother) was practically peeing doing the report about this. He was hyperventilating by the end of the story.
Because???
Care to share your list of preferred presidential candidates for 2016?
This is Travis county folks. Anyone with an R behind their name or is a conservative they are going to prosecute.
Abbott is a real conservative, and has my support (and vote), even if he is a Republican.

There *may* be a few of these type “See what a crook Perry is” articles, from the crookeder crooks in Austin.
From another article:
Were happy, said Craig McDonald of Austin, director of the nonprofit campaign reform group Texans for Public Justice. It filed the original complaint against Perry with prosecutors last year.
The legal process is working as it should be, said McDonald, who years ago worked for consumer safety advocate and future Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader. The grand jury decided that Perrys bullying crossed the line into law-breaking.

They're been showing up on the newsfeeds, but from the comments, NOBODY is buying what the Democraps are selling.
The Governor has the power to line item veto anything in the budget for any reason he sees fit.
The fact certain hypocritical politicos get their panties in a wad because he exercise this ability is NOT an 'abuse of power'.
I wouldn't spend more than a few minutes mourning if a nuke accidentally went off in Austin. Of course, I'd have to find a new lady-friend... but I'd manage. ;)
