David, a.k.a. Pharoah, doesnt hold a political office or opine for CNN. But this week, the 14-year-old hacker mounted what might have been one of the more personally damaging attacks against Ferguson, Mo.s embattled police department: the name and the address, and the Social Security number of St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar.
Thats not all. Pharoah, a self-proclaimed member of the loosely affiliated hacker collective Anonymous, has also obtained the name and Social Security number of a Ferguson police officer he believes was involved in 18-year-old Michael Browns fatal shooting last weekend. The Ferguson Police Department has said that name is not correct though that doesnt faze Pharoah.
The Ferguson PD actually tweeted at us saying that this is not the officer responsible for the murder, Pharoah said in a lengthy chat via IRC, Anonymouss preferred communication platform. But they could be lying.
And if theyre not?
There would be no collateral damage if the government would be answerable to its citizens, another Anonymous member said....

agreed.
So this has turned into another witch hunt like the Zimmermann case.
Hackers also have the names and Social Security numbers of all Washington comPost “journalists” and editors. But should they share them?
A 14 year old hacker who has the opportunity to release information that might destroy the lives of some men in law enforcement and their families, and by doing so perhaps even take their lives. This is almost beyond belief.
Welcome to 2014.
I probably have a different take on this than most, mainly from my own life experiences dealing with “Law Enforcement” at many different levels. No way in HELL should a “Public Servant” ever be treated any different than an average citizen, there should be NO SECRETS in a FREE SOCIETY. As far as I am concerned they deserve NOTHING. I do not believe in “Special Rights” for ANYONE. Especially the Gestapo Agents we now have acting as Police.
30-40 years ago when they were “Peace Officers” I might have had a different attitude, but then again they would have been arrested and prosecuted for their crimes back then, nowadays they are for the most part “Foreign Agents” for the Government, especially since the Supreme Court declared that Police “ HAVE NO LEGAL DUTY TO PROTECT THE CITIZENS, ONLY THE POLITICAL ENTITY THAT EMPLOYS THEM.
If they DO NOT LIVE IN the community or City that Employs them, where they actually have a relationship with their FELLOW CITIZENS then they are nothing more than Hired Guns, Mercenaries,thugs...They deserve NOTHING.
The difference between a shakedown/protection racket and a government is the snappy uniforms.

Yes. This should never have happened.
You’re wrong.
Why do you think the Mob isn’t as prevalent as in the past? They can’t compete!!
No one should get special rights or treatment just because they work for the government.
/johnny
All the competent heavies found that being government or union was safer and easier.
/johnny
Yes, they should. How’s your garden?
No. There is no moral justification for treating employees with special rights that are better than the rights of the employer.
/johnny
Special Ops? Military? CIA operatives? Where do you draw a line, if any?
Share? You mean endanger?
You can’t uphold the law by breaking the law.
/johnny
If they did nothing wrong and have nothing to hide then they've got nothing to worry about. (At least that's what they always tell the peasants)
No one would be in law enforcement if that were true.
Most of my tomatoes are green.
Whoever publicizes this should be held accountable if any violence comes from it.
