No, the problem is buying the left’s claim that the dynamic is as you propose. I went to college in the late 1970’s, and the young woman resorting to “Dutch courage” as I put it, and, boasting, yes, boasting, about waking up in some guy’s bed at breakfast the next morning was a common phenomenon. All those encounters have been redefined as “rapes” creating a non-existent “epidemic” for which the “solution” is the abolition of expectations of self-control on the part of women, the expectation that men can judge to a nicety whether the woman saying “yes” is at all tipsy, and the abrogation of standards of jurisprudence from the right to confront one’s accuser to the presumption of innocence.
Your college experience was 40 years ago. Things have changed.
One of the things that has changed is serious study of rapists and tests of rape kits. How shocking is it to discover that 9 of 10 rapes were committed by serial rapists.
The college admins have made a hash of things, along with the usual cronies, feminists and sexual liberators, but it doesn’t change the fact that there is a small group of repeat offenders that operate on campuses because of those very attitudes.
