A few flies in the ointment.
1. The only thing “fair” in life sells cotton candy and usually has a ferris wheel.
2. Changing to a “fair tax” still requires a tax collecting agency so the likelihood of abolishing the IRS is nil.
3. Unless the Constitution is amended, if a consumption tax (fair tax) law was passed and signed into law, the next session of Congress would have nothing preventing them from passing a new law bringing the income tax back and taxing us with both a consumption tax and an income tax and turning the consumption tax into a VAT (Value added) tax.
Just sayin.....
A flat tax would be nicer
But abolishing the income tax would be best
