VILLA PARK, Ill. — Comparing their campaign to the civil rights movement, fast food workers from across the country voted today to escalate their efforts for $15-an-hour pay and union membership to include nonviolent civil disobedience.

More than 1,300 workers gathered in a convention in center in suburban Chicago to discuss the future of a campaign that has spread to dozens of cities in less than two years. Wearing T-shirts that said “Fight for $15” and “We Are Worth More,” the workers cheered loudly and said they would win if they stuck together.

“People are just fed up,” said Cindy Enriquez, 20, of Phoenix....

Funny. 1300 “workers” had enough money to go to a convention. Maybe they are earning too much?

Strange to see the name of the small town I grew up in at the headline. Yet, seeing how much it’s changed since I moved away I’m not suprised. They are becoming pretty bold in their demands here in the USA haven’t they?

The right will take power for maybe the last time in 2016.

This opportunity must not be wasted.

The American marxist movement must be destroyed using all means necessary.

That means putting in place the SOP to ensure the marxists NEVER control ANY branch of FEDGOV EVER AGAIN.

Destruction of the COMMUNIST labor unions must be a priority.

And yet, some still manage to screw it up.

Funny how the odds of possibility of getting yanked out of the drive thru window by the neck by an enraged drunk for getting an order wrong is directly proportional to order accuracy.

In NYC in the 1980's, the burger flippers rarely got an order wrong.

They are worth more...Everyone is worth more...When costs are skyrocketing like they are now, wages need to go up...

So where’s the disconnect??? If prices are going up but wages aren’t, it has to be massive increases in profits...

Some of you say that is fair but there’s getting to be a lot of unhappy campers out there...

The dollars are worth less and less by the day.

And the prospective employer said, “I’ll pay you what you are worth”. And the prospective employee said, “I can’t live on that”. And Nancy Pelosi said, “That’s OK, we’ll give you unemployment and welfare benefits to help boost the economy - every dollar of free stuff we give away generates $1.61 in economic boost. If we give enough stuff away, everyone will be richer than a Democrat congresscritter”.

“Comparing their campaign to the civil rights movement...”

And what does that say about today’s views of individual rights?

And for the record, I just got hired by a private EMS company and my starting pay is eleven dollars an hour. Those on here who are EMTs probably already know the steps I had to take to acquire the skills to make me worth that much.

The dollars are worth less and less by the day.

Exactly...The business owners raise their prices to compensate but there is no compensation for the worker...But not only that, many business are taking advantage of the system...There are more new millionaires and billionaires than ever in spite of the bad economic times...

That's poverty wages for a skilled technician...And consider how much these companies are bilking out of the insurance companies...And then the insurance companies bilk their profits off the backs of we who have to pay for the insurance...

I’ve always wanted to see a reality show based on idiot average Joe liberals having to start and maintain a business with average start up capital.

Well, once I get full-time hours, it’ll be riches by my standards.
