Doctors don’t stay unemployed for long.

He’ll get work in a much better neighborhood, too.

I suspect that he’ll have no difficulty finding another hospital to practice at. The company I work for has a similar policy - and one that I ignore every single day.

Nice shooting there Doc!

It was not clear why Silverman, a doctor for nearly 25 years, was armed at the office.

Perhaps because he knew he was dealing with homicidal crazies and that the hospital wasn't providing adequate security. Even the hospitals here in Texas have 'no gun' signs on their attached medical office buildings.

The shootings of a mass murderer are the actions of an unstable mind and therefore are excusable and the shooter should be treated with compassion. The shooting by someone defending himself and others is rational action and therefore deliberate violence and as such must be severely punished. That is what the left believes. I have had this discussion with a now professor and with other leftists.

Save lives, lose your job. It’s one of those “fundamentally transformed” things. The commie libs believe in letting nature run its course. They love mass killings too. They score lots of political points against the Bill of Rights each time one of these mass killings occur.

Well it came in handy!

Seriously, Liberals find an innocent victim shot to death by criminal thugs morally superior to an armed citizen defending them self.

Ok, please tell me that I'm not so big of a sci-fi nerd that I was the only one who read that headline as:

"Armed Doctor Who, opened fire....

Instead of "Armed Doctor, who opened fire...."

My first thought was, which actor that played "Doctor Who"? and how did he get a gun? I thought they were banned in Britain....

Hope he killed him. Wouldn’t want the perp to suffer a prolonged lethal injection.

An unemployed physicians - if competent - can find employemnet easily and contribute to society.

He should not worry.

And we - as a country - will not improve until we make sure that virtually ALL of our idiot politicians are unemployed.

That’s as in welfare unemployment, with assured prison time if they disgrace our country by doing anything other than eating and cr*pping.

It was not clear why Silverman, a doctor for nearly 25 years, was armed at the office.

In hindsight, it is very clear why he was armed at the office.

It’s unclear why he was armed? BECAUSE HE WORKS WITH PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ISSUES! It is, by definition, his responsibility to interact in a closed-door environment with people who are to varying degrees unable to process events and stresses in a healthy manner. I’m a lawyer and a judge. I carry in the courthouse, because there’s ALWAYS the chance somebody will seek a violent “solution” to a legal problem.

Philly.com elaborated further, and also included some praise for the doctor, It was not clear why Silverman, a doctor for nearly 25 years, was armed at the office

Well, duh. I'd carry everyday for 25 years in the off chance that ONE DAY IT MAY SAVE MY LIFE!

It is the same reason I have fire extinguishers on each floor, 2 weeks of food and water, insurance, maps, cash, etc in case of emergencies. I hope to never use them, but will be damn glad I have it if SHTF.

We live in an upside down world where saving lives is frowned upon, and ending them (especially via abortion) is applauded.

Doc will find work again no doubt.

A lost job is replaced easily enough. A lost life on the other hand...Interesting that despite multiple hits to the chest, the perp was still listed as wounded. I guess a hospital is probably the best place to get shot.

Funny how competing harms works for protestors in the 60s destroying property to save lives of Vietnamese, but here to save lives of Americans a violation has no such protection.

keep going liberal America and bureaucratic policy idiots... Keep at it... Hell to pay.

But like alot of pizza delivery people and shop and rob clerks, he is alive (not that I condone the killing zone policy of the hospital).

Much better if the gunman killed several people and follow a stupid policy that is only a CYA for the hospital.
