Because they alone can ensure everyone is adequately fed with the ‘right’ foods.
Why do you feel a government and global corporate monopoly on food is admirable?
Sarcasm?
They can also ensure only the right people have food.
Sorry, forgot the /s on that.
Both are accurate statements.
Amen brother. Amen.
Then why are the rabidly pro population control billionaires, including the ones who support involuntary sterilization, also the ones promoting GMO crops?
So when Gates donates money to an entity that indisputably has saved millions of lives, that should reflect well on him instead of reflecting poorly on entity saving lives.
I don’t get the corporate or government monopoly of food. I’ve worked in agriculture for the last 37 years and every year I am exposed to an increasing pool of ag product suppliers. Monsanto Round-up came off patent several years ago and there are dozens of generic glyphosate products on the market. The protection of intellectual property when it comes to seed is no different than patents on software or copy rights on music. There would be no incentive for research and development without and economic return. The patent on Golden Rice was voluntarily rescinded as a humanitarian gesture.
Then explain that, in light of the fact that Bill Gates also supports involuntary sterilization in the 3rd world.
I’m sure the right hand supports adequate food so that those 3rd worlders have big healthy 3rd world families while the left hand supports involuntary sterilization because there are ‘too many people’.
I know exactly who Norman Borlaug is.
I also know his funding came from the Rockefellers.
Who were also rabid population control wackjobs.
Monsanto and the rest of big ag are an example of fascism in the US and the world. They sue farmers whos crops are pollinated by wind of nearby GMO crops, and fight like hell any attempt to lablel gmo’s- forced into our food without proper testing. And the gov’t plays right along
Tremendous advancement has been made in crop efficiency, all by virtue of natural hybid tech. Once gmo’s are involved with patent rights involved, the “charity” of the super ag corporations becomes highly questionable.
It is amazing how many self proclaimd conservatives play right along with the gov’t/big ag aliance.
Yeah, 'wackjobs' who funded a guy who saved a billion lives.
There's certainly a wackjob involved in this argument but I'm pretty sure it isn't people who were involved in helping Norman Borlaug save a billion lives.
You didn’t refute the Rockefeller involvement in population control.
Explain their interest in population control with ‘saving a billion lives’.
“I raise a large garden as well. However, Golden Rice is a very good product for 3rd worlders. “
Except it has never been tested for the promotion of cancer or any other human consequence.
“Greenpeace is a bunch of commies bastards.
Crony capitalists are as bad or worse.
“I put anyone who is against something like golden rice in the same category as the idiots who pushed to outlaw DDT. Comfortable, well fed people should not be making decisions for less fortunate countries.
I will add the crony big ag folks to your list - who use political graft to force this untested food onto the third world while raking in money.
“The fact is, Monsanto has saved more lives than Hitler murdered.”
I’d love to see cites of studies backing up that opinion...
Seriously? You’ve never heard of the Green Revolution?

However the government controls the gmo staples and are heavily influenced by the global food companies.
They have no interest in actually helping people.
