Yeah ... I have mixed thoughts about this one.

Good a punk kid was caught, tried and sentenced, but 23 years seems a bit much.

The apparent factor of weight seems to have been the shooting of a dog that happens to have been a retired K9, which, in and of itself is worth something, but cops never pay for THEIR murders.

Sounds like animal cruelty was only one of the three charges in this case. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over this. The guy should get 23 years for armed burglary alone, considering the fact that he’s apparently got a long record of run-ins with the law.

Florida has tough laws against criminals who use guns during their crimes. Combine that with relatively good gun rights for the law abiding, and the good guys have a distinct advantage.

He'll serve a quarter of it and return to society as a muscle-bound, 20-something, angry hardened predator with a chip on his shoulder and zero opportunities.

This won't be the last we hear of Ivins Rosier.
