Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled that Christian craft store Hobby Lobby has a legal right to abstain from an Obamacare mandate that violates its religious beliefs about abortion

Former Dancing with the Stars contestant and teen mom Bristol Palin wants her fans to celebrate the victory for religious liberty by shopping at their local Hobby Lobby on Thursday

Palin said she would post the best pictures of her fans shopping at the store to her blog

Reality TV show star Bristol Palin is asking conservatives to celebrate the Supreme Court's landmark contraception mandate decision by participating in a Hobby Lobby Love Day this Thursday.

Shortly after the high court handed down its decision affirming the family-owned company's right to abstain from an Obamacare mandate that violates its religious beliefs, Palin called on her fans to support the Christian craft store by making a special trip to the store on July 3.

'The Supreme Court says that Obama can’t force Hobby Lobby to provide “contraception” that cause abortions. Way to go, Hobby Lobby!!' Palin said in a blog post announcing the nationwide effort.

'We should all go to Hobby Lobby and buy something to celebrate.'

Bristol Palin, pictured here with her son Tripp in a selfie posted to her Facebook account in April, is calling on fellow conservatives to shop at Hobby Lobby on Thursday to show their support for the Christian craft store.

Yesterday the court ruled that Hobby Lobby and other 'closely-held' businesses with religious ties were eligible for exemption from a provision of the health care law that requires companies to provide their employees with health plans that cover 'preventative services' for women....

My five kids are middle aged and they don’t have time to participate in social media-—nor would they if they did have the time. So you raised 5 kids who are not in touch with what is going on in the world? Is that something to brag about on Free Republic that is social media?

Nope, wish they were. Two of them are hard-core liberals, two conservatives, and one right down the middle.

Not to rub it in but Bristol is a hard core conservative that boldly proclaims conservative and Christian values. I would be slow to judge since half your offspring is set on destroying this country.

Sarah is taken more seriously than almost any other conservative in the country. Especially by the left.

Dream on. She never ran for office again. She resigned as Governor. She now tours and endorses. That's what politicians do when they are finished.

No, you are the one who started with the name calling. I have said this girl hurt her mother’s career and she did. I have said she likes the spotlight and she does. You and your ilk are the ones being abusive and using disgusting language thinking that it will silence me. It’s not working, is it?

Thanks. I hit “like” so her page should come up on my daily feed. I notice that a lot of young women seem to follow her. That’s nice, very nice.

I’m in your camp.

Hooray for Bristol for not having an abortion.

Shame on her ever since. Shame on her for not marrying the father or giving the baby up for adoption to a married couple.

As a single mother, she has quadrupled her boy’s chances of going to jail, dropping out of high school, being abused or murdered by mommy’s boyfriend, and having kids out of wedlock himself. I DON’T CARE WHO HIS GRANDFATHER IS; there is no father in the home married to the mother, and that’s on her.

Since she has nothing of value to say young American woman, she should sit down and shut up.

The Puritan wing of FR!

I’m sure you’d have Tess of the D’Urbervilles in the stocks and her child consigned to working in factories or being shut up in a closet by the beadle. Usually when people are cruel to the mothers, they’re cruel to the children. Never fails.

Bristol Palin has a large, extended family. In that sense, she is far from a single mother. There are plenty of males around that house.

Since you think she has no right to do ANYTHING, I assume you’ll pay for her welfare checks.

You need to look into the conservative pro-life activists you are attacking, and the Palins give up a baby to adoption? What are you smoking?

Here is some past posting on what New York Times best selling author, Bristol Palin has to say to young American women.

""Bristol is also a speaker for the “National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy” and is a “Teen Abstinence Ambassador for the Candie’s Foundation, a teen pregnancy prevention organization.""

Amazing the Fan Club Bristol has here on Free Republic. There must be 4 or 5 members at least. And how fast the little darling has grown up. Seems like only yesterday she was on Fox telling Greta that her mother's views on abstinence "weren't realistic at all."

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2187395/posts

Seems like only yesterday that she and her ex-boyfriend released his and hers memoirs about her decision to get pregnant (he says deliberately.) After tanking her mother's career, writing a book about getting drunk and pregnant. No, that won't make her mother a target for mockery. Again.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2777409/posts

Even Sarah's domestic political advisor and speech writer knew what Bristol was. "“Two words: Patti Davis. Okay three more: Ron Reagan Junior. Two more: Billy Carter. Doesn’t your family have one?” Mansour said. “She will hold her at arm’s length. Even Thatcher was never able to disown her screw up son Mark. It’s a Mom thing,” Rebecca Mansour wrote. (dailycaller.com, 2011)

Indeed, Bristol has been such a boon to the entire conservative message about self-control, as "Bristol Palin Proves It: Abstinence Education Is Unrealistic" mentions (pajamasmedia.)

What a supportive child. No wonder her mother never ran for public office again. Once this little darling was off and running with her memoirs, book tours, talk show appearances, reality shows, her incredibly unappealing off and on and off and on again relationship with the....charming Levi Johnston, she really took the spotlight from her mother. Her mother went from VP contender to pundit.

I will add that those Freepers who think Sarah had no idea at all she could be the VP nominee until they knocked on her door in August 2008, surprising her like Ed McMahon showing up to tell you that you’ve won the sweepstakes, this New Yorker article (while unnecessarily snarky in tone) reveals that as early as summer 2007, Sarah Palin was inviting all the Washington insiders to Alaska for cruises and meet-ups, and by February 2008, everyone knew she was on the list. Chris Cillizza interviewed her about it that February. Trigg was born in December. Let’s all count on our fingers, shall we, from February to December? Was Bristol aware that her mother was on the list for potential VP when she was out camping overnight in the woods with guys (what a good idea)? Oh yes. Yes, she was. That girl was 100% aware that her mother had been angling for bigger things since summer of 2007. But teenagers, well... sometimes they want their parents’ undivided attention, don’t they? Sometimes, they want EVERYONE’S attention.

“Bristol Palin has a large, extended family. In that sense, she is far from a single mother. There are plenty of males around that house.”

It’s been statistically proven over and over, by every social metric, that you’re dead wrong.

It is (once again, science) a DEMONSTRABLY failed liberal idea that “male role models around the house” are an acceptable substitute for fathers in the home married to the mothers.

These numbers aren’t mitigated by the fact that the Palins are a “nice” family with financial means. Or that they’re white instead of black or Hispanic. White boys (and girls) without fathers in the home do worse in life than those who have fathers. You cannot argue this away because you really, really like Todd and Sarah Palin.

Anything other than a father in the home married to the mother is NOT good enough. It’s second best. It’s tragic for Tripp Palin — IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT TODD PALIN IS A GREAT FATHER. HE’S NOT THIS BOY’S FATHER AND HE’S NOT LIVING IN THE HOME, MARRIED TO THE MOTHER.

I stand by what I say. Of course, you will have to wait 20 years before you happily find out that Tripp Palin is a drug-addicted thief and Bristol Palin is dead in the gutter - your puritanical fantasies having been played out to the fullest. I take an optimistic point of view and since I know two illegitimate children (bastards, to you) who are both in college and doing exceptionally well, I have reasons to be feel optimistic. One was raised by his mother (with help from the father) and another was raised in an extended family. The head of the family is a evangelical minister.

You are confusing anecdotal evidence — outliers — with quantifiable, verifiable hard data that says 99.999 % of the time, you get a completely different outcome. You want this not to be true because you like the Palins, but you can’t ignore the math.

And you know very well that nothing — not 9/11, not war, not the recession/depression, not Obama, not mass illegal immigration, not rising illiteracy, not the decline of religion — has done as much to hasten the moral, social, and economic decay of the United States in the last thirty years as single motherhood.

And that’s why Bristol Palin needs to SHUT. UP. She is NOT a good example. At best, she’s a horrible warning.

Onl the other hand, I do think Bristol subtracted a lot from Sarah when she ran. Bristol was not "lost" or "overwhelmed" or "only had sex once at 17 years, eleven months and 30 days old" - what rot. Whether consciously or subconsciously, I think she was trying to sabotage her mother's run, and also I think there was some weird issues with Sarah also being pregnant during that time.

I haven't gotten all the way through the thread yet, but Bristol became pregnant with Trig while her mother was governor and BEFORE her selection as McCain's running mate. Sarah gave birth in April, also before her selection as McCain's VP. When she was introduced in Ohio that August day, Bristol carried Trig in part so her own pregnancy would not be so noticeable.

Yeah, and don’t forget that Piper humiliated Sarah as well when Letterman made a joke that she and A-Rod were having sex on the ball field. I could have slapped Piper about that.

What ever are you talking about? Letterman made a bad off-color joke about Willow, not Piper, and what did either girl have to do with it? Sarah took Letterman to task about a joke about an underage child and Letterman did have to apologize.
