The win of Sen. W. Thad Cochran over state Sen. Christopher B. McDaniel in the June 24 GOP Mississippi Senate Primary runoff by less than 5,000 votes is a pyrrhic victory for the Republican establishment.

There will be blowback from this senate race in MS.
How and when it manifests itself remains to be seen.
Remember Newtons law.
For every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction.
Blowback will come.

I would suggest the primaries be closed but Independents can vote for either party's candidates. There would be a ballot for Republicans, a ballot for Democrats, and a ballot listing both parties for Independents.

In Massachusetts, Independents can vote in either primary, but we have to choose either a D or an R ballot -- no mixing and matching! And if you want to change your party affiliation, it has to be done about a month or 6 weeks (I think) before the election. Doesn't seem to be the case in Mississippi.

It’s way past time to wake up about the GOP, folks.

No.

There's plenty wrong with the RNC, and the RINO-GOPe is very much the same enemy as the RATs.

There's plenty wrong with the Republican State Committees that allow open primaries.

Those are specific references to the enemy.

BUT! The GOP includes TEApublicans and other conservative Republicans.

The GOP platform IS NOT crafted by RINOs, nor do they follow it.

What's wrong with the platform?

Your links indicate Dem chicanery even more to me. The black “pastor”/community activist/robocaller supposedly supporting Cochran even says he’ll be working to elect the Dem in Nov. Operation Alienate White Voters is going swimmingly, if FR is any indication.

“Former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour is backing the pro-Cochran super PAC Mississippi Conservatives and, in an interview with ABC News, said he would absolutely in no way back down from the fight.”

“A Democratic political operative says he is working with Mississippi Conservatives PAC to drum up votes for U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran.”

This is Haley Barbour’s baby. Let him own it.

Haley Barbour supports this:

"Barbour’s nephews, Henry and Austin Barbour, and Barbour himself, Burns wrote, are all an “integral part of the sophisticated political operation seeking to quash Cochran’s primary opponent from the GOP’s right flank.” Henry and Austin Barbour both serve in key roles for the Cochran re-election effort; Henry is the head of the pro-Cochran Super PAC Mississippi Conservatives PAC while Austin is a senior Cochran campaign strategist"

You’d better start with the nephew of the former governor. He’s the head of the PAC that Crudup was working with.

What would happen if Conservatives walked away from the GOP and joined with Libertarians? I know there’s a lot we disagree on; but I think we agree on a much more.

"The GOP platform IS NOT crafted by RINOs, nor do they follow it."

The GOP has always been a party of moderates. Rush Limbaugh was right when he said that the party historically only tolerated the conservatives in its midst, but now it outright wars against them.

"What's wrong with the platform?"

Well, there's the official support for "environmentally friendly" energy development and the fact that no social issues are mentioned. But the platform is words on a website or a piece of paper. It's meaningless when Republicans are becoming increasingly pro-queer, pro-amnesty, and pro-Obamacare, or at least lacking the guts to do anything about it. You can be sure of this: at some point, the platform will be changed to include support for "marriage equality."

How many hard lessons does it take for us to understand that we are not going to change the GOP from within? That magical, dreamed-of day is never going to arrive.

For those who think the Tea Party will take over the Republican Party, this is a wakeup call. The GOP-E will simply call on the other half of the Uniparty, their good friends the Democrats, to help in a pinch. A new party is the only way to kill this beast.

I think “Rev” Crupp misrepresented himself as being part of Barbour’s “super pac”. Just because Dem community activist Crupp claims such and the msm happily repeat it a gazillion times, doesn’t make it so.

And yet Crudup’s church shares the same physical address as the one listed for Mississippi Conservatives PAC, headed by Henry Barbour. Nephew of Haley.

I’m sure that’s a coincidence!

Then the USA is over. Your experiment would take decades to pull off.

We have a couple of years at best.

” We have a couple of years at best.”

What, precisely, is the GOP doing to even slow this down?

Specifics please.

It is what it is, I guess. It isn’t doing us any good to hold onto dreams while we watch the GOPe help destroy the nation.
