The chairman WAS a jerk. When a friend of mine, who raised daphnia on a diet of algae to feed his fish, brought some daphnia to the school to save us money from having to order them from a biological supply company, this idiot confronted him at the security guard's desk, screaming, "Do not let this man bring that jar into the school! They were raised on dung!" Having never visited my friend's home, how did the chairman "know" that the daphnia were raised on "dung"? What a total idiot. And he was actually foaming at the mouth, he was so het up about the daphnia. Just happened that I was standing there in the hall conversing with the union rep, who was a friend of mine. She saw it all. This man also accused me of stealing the life-support equipment of the school's leopard geckos and fish---when it was on my own unreimbursed dime that these and the other school animals had been living for years, and I had much better, nicer lights, pumps, etc. at home anyway. He was a real jerk, you are totally correct.
