ObamaCare Reality Shown by Phoenix VA Hospital Deaths

In a chilling glimpse into what Americans will have to face, it's being reported that there has been over 40 Phoenix VA hospital deaths due to government bureaucracy and cover-ups. It appears that the Veterans Affairs hospital used secret lists so as to show that they were improving wait times for veterans to see a doctor. By law, veterans are supposed to see a doctor within 14 to 30 days. However, the VA created a secret list where they would enter the patient's information but not save it. Instead, they would take a screen capture of the information and print it out. Only when they knew that they could schedule a veteran within a 14 day window, would they then fully enter that data into the system.

The reality is that many veterans wait up to twenty weeks or more to see a doctor. Some have waited almost two years. Even in the case of emergency, the veterans were put on the secret waiting list and forced to wait. One case documented by CNN (I know, I'm stunned that they've actually done some real investigative journalism!) shows that Thomas Breen, a 71 year old Navy vet, went to the VA hospital due to blood in his urine and having a history of cancer. His case was deemed urgent and that he would see a doctor within one week, and he was then sent home. He never got to see a doctor, and he died two months later from stage 4 bladder cancer. Six days after he died, his family got a call from the VA to confirm his appointment.

The administration of the Phoenix VA hospital hid their secret lists and shredded many documents to cover it up. They're now being investigated by inspector generals, and the VA has said, "It is disheartening to hear allegations about Veterans care being compromised. We have conducted robust internal reviews since these allegations surfaced and welcome the results from the Office of Inspector General's review. We take these allegations seriously." What utter crap. The Phoenix VA hospital says that they're complying, but how can they when they've destroyed records?

The sad thing is that the Phoenix VA hospital isn't the only one with such deaths. I've listened to a few interviews with veterans groups, and they're saying that such a modus operandi is becoming increasingly commonplace and that many more veterans have died from waiting for basic health care. They also note that nothing gets done because Veterans Affairs workers are federal workers and are almost impossible to get fired due to negligence or incompetence.

We should all look at this situation with horror. For starters, our veterans should never be treated this way. I want those responsible serving jail time, but as Eric Holder is the Attorney General, we know that will never happen. Second, this is the future we all face under ObamaCare. We were scorned by liberals and the media when we talked about death panels and having to wait months, or years, for the most basic medical procedures. Yet this is what we see every day in the Veterans Affairs health care, which is government run. Every country that has socialized medicine sees insane wait times for things that are done quickly in our once-private health care system. That's why hospitals that border Canada have whole wings devoted to Canadians who come down as they don't want to wait until the government tells them it's ok to finally see a doctor.

So far, we have one hospital with 40 deaths, but there are plenty of other VA hospitals that veterans groups say are doing similar things. I hate to think how many veterans have suffered and/or died as a result of this practice. Yet it's something that staring all of us in the face as ObamaCare sweeps in and destroys our health care industry. There'll be plenty of secret lists for all of us.

Death panels are too easy to expose.

Thanks for posting. TOTALITARIANCARE = plunder & death. Witness current events. Murder by neglect, murder by intent. It does not matter to a scum-sucking socialist. From death panels to abortion clinics.
