Big Government Use of Armed Intimidation Against Dissenters

All my life, I've heard that liberals are against authority and that they love nothing more than sticking it to the man. Such talk is usually accompanied by how the hippies changed the world by smoking pot and protesting the Vietnam war and other such nonsense. The reality, though, is far different from the narrative that they continually push through their control of popular culture and education. The liberal went from hating the man to becoming the man. They worship at the shrine of big government, and they relish in the displays of overt power that they once condemned. Thus you see an increasing big government use of armed intimidation against dissenters.

Notice how their message has changed dramatically once Obama became president and Democrats took Congress. "Dissent is patriotic" changed to any dissent is now racist and bigoted. Liberals that used to proclaim that they stood up for individual liberty against fascism have become tyrants themselves. This is increasingly evident as any protests are meant with armed federal, local, or state forces in order to intimidate and harass those who are peacefully protesting.

Last year, we had multiple Tea Party rallies against the IRS that were met with armed agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As patriots were protesting the IRS targeting of conservative groups in order to suppress the vote, the federal government felt compelled to send armed forces to confront them in states such as Missouri, Florida, Illinois, and Indiana. Why was DHS there in the first place? Tea Party rallies are peaceful, with the only violence ever occurring being done by liberals, such as union thugs, that attack vendors or peaceful participants. Unlike progressive liberal rallies, Tea Party one usually end with the area being cleaner after the rally than it was before.

For current events, we have the range war in Nevada where a rancher is feuding with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Whether or not you agree that the rancher is right or wrong, the fact that federal authorities sent several hundred armed agents seems to be huge overkill. One would wish that the federal government would show such fervor in going after violent illegal aliens instead of releasing 68,000 of them into the shadowy environs of the USA. Perhaps if the rancher claimed that he was an illegal alien, they might back off and leave him alone as that seems to be the current federal policy.

It's not just the federal government that is using armed intimidation against those who dissent. Recently, a family in Georgia told the school district that their children would not be tested under the state test, the CRCT. They wrote the school refusing to give their permission and asked for an alternative schooling to take place during the test itself. Tracy and Mary Finney were asked by the principal of West Side Elementary School to come in for a meeting. When they arrived, they were met by an armed police officer, who informed them that they were "potentially trespassing" on school property due to their refusal to have their children take the state test. The Finneys talked with the police officer and then went on to meet with the principal. However, the motive was clear: to intimidate the parents and have them back down.

Liberals are the ultimate hypocrites. They proclaim to be for the little guy and against an overbearing, impersonal system of tyranny. The truth is that they are for big government abuse of power as long as they are in control of it. Once they lose control of government, expect to see them endlessly whine about the many abuses of power committed against them. Every thing that they excoriated against George W. Bush, they fully support if Obama does the same. In their minds, there can be no dissent. If you don't follow in lockstep, then you're just too stupid to realize how they know what's best for you. That's why they're so quick to bring out the guns (which they rail against if they're in civilian hands) in order to intimidate those that dare to stand up for individual liberty.

Didn’t go through this just a couple of hundred years ago?

Yes, and we go through it every day.

Problem is, the other side is currently winning.

These Liberals aren’t anti-authority. They’re envious. It’s not boots on necks they hate. It’s whose boot it is.

Exactly. The liberal mindset is one set of laws for thee, and another set of laws for me. That’s how they justify everything that they do.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

"the federal government felt compelled to send armed forces to confront them in states such as Missouri, Florida, Illinois, and Indiana. "

Starting now, we need to respond with armed militias wherever the Jack-booted thugs appear with their helicopter gunships, assault rifles, attack dogs, and snipers that are sent against patriotic U.S. citizen protesters. This is a war that they have started!

We need to learn from their mistake and not repeat it.

Reminds me of picture of Elizabeth Nichols of Occupy Portland that floated around a while back. She was the anti-bank protestor, screaming and demanding for government intervention...

College students thought that they ignited the liberal movement. They were just dupes following the cues of the commie bastards that wanted to take over the noblest, Freest nation on the earth and turn it into a enslaved cesspool.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about that image. Love it. The only thing that these knuckleheads whine about is whether or not they're the ones grinding the heavy boot down. If they're doing it, it's for the greater good and ok. If someone else does it, then it's evil.
