Apr 15, 2014 4:03PM ET / Politics Your Photo Could Be Included in the FBI’s New Facial Recognition Database Lucy Westcott

If you're applying for a job in the near future, there's a chance you could end up on the FBI's imminent new facial recognition database alongside criminals, whether you like it or not. According to information obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the database, known as Next Generation Identification (NGI), will for the first time combine criminal and noncriminal fingerprint databases, along with records of palm prints, iris scans, and mugshots. The NGI, which sounds like Facebook mixed with the NSA, will be capable of adding 55,000 images per day and could hold up to 52 million photos by 2015, BBC News reports. The FBI say the database will help protect against terrorist and criminal activities.

FBI
FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION

Next Generation Identification

Vision

Driven by advances in technology, customer requirements, and growing demand for Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) services, the FBI has initiated the Next Generation Identification (NGI) program. This program will further advance the FBI’s biometric identification services, providing an incremental replacement of current IAFIS technical capabilities, while introducing new functionality. NGI improvements and new capabilities will be introduced across a multi-year timeframe within a phased approach. The NGI system will offer state-of-the-art biometric identification services and provide a flexible framework of core capabilities that will serve as a platform for multimodal functionality. A full and open competition was used to award the NGI contract to Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions. This multi-million dollar contract will consist of a base year and the potential for up to nine option years.

I'm sure the collection will exempt the 5-7 Million muslim terrorists in the USA, along with the 5-6 Million homegrown felons in the USA.

I'm sure it will also exempt the million or so LEOs who routinely commit capital crimes with impunity against citizens.

You can bet they already have everyone on FB, your drivers license, traffic cameras and various other cameras at Walmart, banks, etc. IOW, they already have your face, finger prints, ISP, cell number, address and DNA on file.
