8 examples of Common Core teaching that range from criminally negligent to treason

I don't want to sound overly dramatic, but as the father of two children who are still too young to be in school the thought that this is what will meet them when they finally start is terrifying to me.

The math is enough to put me over the edge, but the history is worse (especially the second amendment stuff) because these kids are being conditioned to WANT to be controlled by government. Paraphrasing Reagan, this truly puts our freedom one generation away from extinction...

Wow. Thanks for posting that. From the incomprehensible math to the outright indoctrination about “obeying the government” to a clever distortion of the 2nd Amendment...it hits all the leftist bases.

Re: the possessive nouns page

Poor President Obama. It is so hard for him. We need to be more patient and understanding of him. He has such a hard job controlling us all.

It’s getting to the point where allowing your children to attend a government indoctrination center borders on child abuse.

Avoid all this and put your kids heads and shoulders above the rest by home schooling them or enrolling them in a quality private school.

Do you see why we in Maine must secede? Common Core will destroy this country, we in Maine want to out of that destruction. The federal gØvt has gone to far, our kids are at stake, we must get out.

When older kid and her hubby decide to have kids I’m telling them both they need to arrange for home schooling or a private school that doesn’t touch common core with a ten foot pole. Unless that pole has a taser attached to the end. Lefties are doing everything in their power to destroy all that’s good in this country. It looks like they need to be destroyed first.

CommieCore is doing to math what look-say did to reading.

And Bill Ayers said that he is quite satisfied with the way education is going.

One thing is for sure - at some point in the future we will be at the very bottom of all the educational testing of all the countries in the entire world.

A good word problem "math situation" can be drawn from their "Map of Time." "How many tens of millions (or more) people have been killed by insect spread diseases can be tied to Rachel Carlson's publishing of "Silent Spring?" Mark

#4 under “possessive pronouns” should actually read, “He makes the laws of the country up on a daily basis.”

I guess that since Dr. Martin Luther King didn’t obey the “government officials,” he would be portrayed in common core course work as a bad person, and since he was put in jail by those very same “government officials,” he was a criminal.

Where is that in the book?

Mark

Every time the government comes up with a "better way to teach," (see "New Math") it results in the dumbing down of education, setting the "standards bar" lower and lower.

I have a feeling that since the schools of education around the country generally have people who test at lower levels than many other disciplines, they try to come up with "new" methods to "teach" concepts that they themselves don't understand.

I googled common core math examples, the solving of the problems is
absolutely ridiculous what should be a very simple solution is expanded
into math gibberish (fuzzy math)!! What the HELL is the reason for this
garbage other than parents NOT being able to easily homeschool their
children!!!

Fuzzy math is right.

These kids graduate high school without being able to do simple percentages in their head or the ability to give change.

I find it astonishing and that new math approach shown above boggles the mind.

What the HELL is the reason for this garbage other than parents NOT being able to easily homeschool their children!!!

Week after week, month after miserable month, poor grades right and left... the students will believe that they are stupid and inadequate, and therefore need big cuddly government to do their thinking for them. That, and the more dysfunctional the "education" the more special ed and special ed students are created. It's not only a dumbing down for dollars, it's a jobs creation scheme for the NEA.

This is child abuse by the very people entrusted with the nation's children. How convenient for these abusers that in a large % of households both parents work, so educrats are emboldened to do harm, being away from the ignorant, prying, judgmental eyes of parents.
