That is a CIA talking point right there. They were not just protestors. They were given top positions in the new government. That was how the Russian language was made illegal.

It is true that the fascists came out in large numbers for the protests and ended up getting 3 cabinet positions out of 21 (none of the them are key positions, by the way) But it’s a typical smear tactic to go after the malignant minority and use it to blanket smear the rest of the opposition.

And that bill that removed Russian as a second language failed to become law.
