To all the Putin apologists,

Posted on 03/05/2014 9:45:42 AM PST by Red White and Blue patriot

Whether you are paid agents, losertarian isolationis, or just dim wits who wouldn't know what conservatism and freedom are if they kicked you in the backside. Why are still here? The land of vodka and borscht awaits. If you hate this country so much, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. Go join your brothers in mother Russia. I served this country. I love this country despite all its faults. It is the greatest nation that has ever been or ever will be. Despite my disgust with the politicians I would never side with the likes of the Red Russians. Never! And for those here hoping for Uncle Vlad to come and rescue them from the government by supplying assistance to a secessionist movement, you belong in prison for anybody who would accept the help of a commie tyrant is a traitor.

I don’t see how letting the Russians invade a sovereign country without consequences will strengthen our position in the future. There a number of things we can do short of war. We just don’t have the will to do them. Our biggest problem is the Obama administration. We will always be weak with that crowd running things.

He didn’t though, but he did invade Grenada and fight clandestinely from Africa to the Middle East, to Latin America, and we were very poised in Europe, running the largest most aggressive Reforgers ever, doing a massive military buildup.

Reagan was taking on the Soviets everywhere, it is what made the mid 1980s so tense, he was cornering them and blocking them, pressuring them across the globe, even in Eastern Europe.

Reagan was extremely aggressive, it was a pleasure to serve under him.

Excellent points. Back in the 80s, Reagan put us on the offensive. Carter and Obama put us on the defensive.

The only reason they occupied Crimea was because it looked like they were going to be kicked out of the base by the new government. So you are just letting them have land they had a lease and agreement to use for a few decades. Now if they move into the Ukraine proper, you have a good point. This is not Georgia where they had no lease or agreement to use land. What if Cuba was going to kick us out of our base ? Yes Obama would probably hand it to them on a silver platter, but we have been there for decades.

You missed Reagan’s point about giving Star Wars to the Russians, as most everyone else did back then. You cannot back a bear into a corner, without giving him a way out. If you do box him in a corner, he will attack with his claws, just because he is a bear.

No, I didn’t miss Reagan’s finesse as he handled the American media, and the American left, the weak isolationists, and the Soviet Union.

Reagan didn’t give the SDI to the Soviet Empire, but he did actually challenge then and harass them all over the world, all while facing incredible attacks from the naysayers and those crying out that he was going to destroy the world and end life on earth.

Ronald Reagan was incredibly aggressive, and he was everywhere, and the military build up was at war time levels.

By the late 1970s, many of us anticipated the Communists invading in the mid 1980s, but Reagan’s war time footing closed that window, and resulted in the collapse of that evil empire.

That’s right always trust the KGB in the room.... Mussolini got the trains to run on time... a broken clock is right twice a day

I would NEVER say that that Putin was ‘right’ about anything.... because he isn’t.

“You have to assume the US is wrong in everyone of its positions from Global Warming to NSA spying to Using the IRS to Punish Political Opponents and on and on.”

Agreed. The US, as represented by its government, which in turn is a reflection of the majority of its people, no longer holds the moral high ground.

As I said above - believe that he’s always wrong, you’re playing his game. This is not about “broken clocks”. This is about he being way smarter than you give him credit for. Understimate the enemy on your own risk.

For Gitmo, I think we have a lease in which both parties have to agree to end it. I think we give them $2000/year for the lease. They, of course, always return the check.

The Russians see the Crimea as absolutely essential to their security, so they will be nearly impossible to remove from there. I think they could also encourage a separatist movement in the eastern and southern sections of Ukraine. This would create all sorts of problems, needless to say.

I agree with everything you said except this:

the incompetent leadership in the White House

It's incompetent AND evil. 0bastard and his peeps WANT to destroy the US on purpose, they're not just doing it due to incompetence.

0bastard and his in-country team of communists, thugs, moslems and faggots is destroying the US.

Putin’s actions in Eastern Europe are of little consequence to the US compared to the above sentence.

No matter how bad Obama is, he pales (pun intended) in comparison with Putin, a murderer.

You're kidding, right?

No, I’m not. Obama definitely wants to be like Putin (or Chavez), but he hasn’t gotten there yet.
