Congress today levies no direct taxes on the states. Quite the opposite. The Federal government today heavily subsidizes state governments.

What you call ‘vital information’ is in fact irrelevant.

Senator Cruz still promotes the socialist/progressive’s tax upon incomes?

I can't tell if you're hung up on the issue of apportionment or hung up on real conservatives.

BEWARE: Mt. Vernon Assembly is working 24/7 to convene a constitutional convention!

"If the America People do not rise up and defend their existing Constitution and the intentions and beliefs under which it was adopted, who is left to do so but the very people it was designed to control and regulate?" - JWK

Bizarre!

I'm hung up on defending our Constitution and the documented intentions and beliefs under which it was adopted!

JWK

Those who reject and ignore abiding by the intentions and beliefs under which our Constitution was agree to, as those intentions and beliefs may be documented from historical records, wish to remove the anchor and rudder of our constitutional system so they may then be free to “interpret” the Constitution to mean whatever they wish it to mean.

Madison wrote something like this..that of all taxes, excise is the least abhorant.

Madison, as all the rest, viewed taxation as tyranny-except maybe for Hamilton.

BTW, I believe that the ratio is about 7200 reps per capita in the whole of the USA. Might be wrong on that but...

You very consistently attack conservatives and conservative positions.

Actually, I like Mark Levin and listen to him regularly, but also know he is not the fountain of all knowledge.

JWK

"To lay with one hand the power of the government on the property of the citizen [a working person’s earned wage] and with the other to bestow upon favored individuals, to aid private enterprises and build up private fortunes[Obama’s Solyndra, Chevy Volt, Fisker, Exelon swindling deals, and now his “promise zones”] is none the less a robbery because it is done under forms of law and called taxation."____ Savings and Loan Assc. v. Topeka,(1875).

Well, the long and the short of it is that the Sixteenth Amendment changed everything. The South pushed hard for a national income tax and now we have one.

And in several of the state ratification documents they expressed their intentions very clearly concerning direct taxes, e.g., see Ratification of the Constitution by the State of New Hampshire; June 21, 1788

Fourthly That Congress do not lay direct Taxes but when the money arising from Impost, Excise and their other resources are insufficient for the Publick Exigencies; nor then, untill Congress shall have first made a Requisition upon the States, to Assess, Levy, & pay their respective proportions, of such requisitions agreeably to the Census fixed in the said Constitution in such way & manner as the Legislature of the State shall think best and in such Case if any State shall neglect, then Congress may Assess & Levy such States proportion together with the Interest thereon at the rate of six per Cent per Annum from the Time of payment prescribed in such requisition-

Also see an Act laying a direct tax for $3 million in which the rule of apportionment is applied and each State’s Congressional Delegation returned home with a bill in hand for their State’s Governor and Legislature to deal with. And then see Section 7 of direct tax of 1813 allowing states to raise and pay their respective quotas in their own chosen way and be entitled to certain deductions in meeting their payment on time.

Maybe someday the people will take note of the importance of the rule of apportionment, but I doubt it judging how the personal attacks keep coming my way for defending our Founding Father's wisdom regarding the rule of apportionment.

Okay, well, then instead of filing any more tax returns, just send the government a copy of your comments on this thread. It will take a while, but they'll get back to you.

P.S. If you include some violent threats, your case will get priority. ;-)

Stop trolling the thread. This is not about not paying taxes. It's about the rule of apportionment and its legislative intent.
