National Republican chairman Reince Priebus is coming to Connecticut to raise money this week and the tea party will be there to greet him.

The activists will gather Thursday night outside the Owl Shop in New Haven, where GOP insiders will raise money over cigars and cocktails. (The minimum individual contribution is $125.)

*wouldn’t you love to be standing in front of “old smooth face” McConnell and him try to punch you in the nose.*

I bet I could take a phone call from my wife at the same time I ducked out of his RINOesque punch and he'd miss me by about 2 foot

“NEW HAVEN >> State Rep. Juan Candelaria, D-95, announced Thursday night that he will not seek the New Haven Senate seat vacated by Mayor Toni Harp.

Harp recently resigned after 21 years in the state Senate as she assumed office as the city’s 50th mayor.”

Progressive Radical Gary Holder-Winfield will now coast to election on FEB 25 against token opposition.

And he’s backing Mr. Hyphen-face. What a flake.

Further illustrating why messing with rat primaries is a waste of time.

see what I mean by negativity ... friendly fire, etc.?

Juan dropped out cuz of lack of support from outside the district to ... agree to give minimal effort. Surrender again.

Was he even in the race a week? Enter the race without first lining up support and then quit in a week when you don’t get it? Very flakey.

not flaky ... that woman he was going to support ... he didn’t want to run against her ... he was trying to line up support for her ... then she dropped out to take a city hall job ... so he took over ... the work he did for her, he tried to get the support transferred to him. He was rumored to be a candidate himself for 6 months, but was undeclared.

he did not have the majority of the 60 votes, so instead of losing at the convention tonight, he dropped out. The alternative was to petition onto the ballot, but the signatures are due FRIDAY at 5pm.

Meanwhile, the groups around the state that endorsed him for state rep yawned and did nothing to help him or promise support for a petition campaign.

A forfeit by the pro-family community again.

Now we can watch the same thing for Holder-Winfield ... his state rep seat will be vacant and a special held in May. I bet we forfeit again.

There will be a race in CT-10 Senate ... at least a token effort ...

http://www.nhregister.com/government-and-politics/20140116/holder-winfield-gets-dem-nod-for-new-haven-senate-run

“Goldson said he is running on a platform of tax cuts to help young and old and the dwindling middle class.”

Meanwhile, Charles Blango, primary opponent of the radical Holder-Winfield in Winfield’s first race, 2008, says he will run for Winfield’s state rep seat.

Blango made a bit of a stir in ‘08 by stating in the local paper that he opposes gay marriage.

Go Charles Go.

For those who wonder why this is a concern seeing that it is a bunch of DEMS ... Winfield is young and will be making the laws for the state of CT for decades. he is on the judiciary committee as a state rep and will likely continue as a state Senator.

Now he owns the seat for life or until he gets tired of it. Based of the likelihood that Goldson’s effort will not be competitive.

These moderateish rats need to realize that there is no place in the rat party for “pro-family” folks any longer.

Illinois state House districts are 4 1/2 times as large as the CT House districts ... which changes the whole dynamic.

The CT House seats have a real local thing going on. Some of the primaries have about 1000 votes ... so the special interest groups do not dominate them.

I can see why people on here from large states don’t get interested in their state House. It’s big time politics ... which is nauseating.

in CT, there is barely a place in the GOP for pro-family folks. The pro-family DEMS in the House fight our battles for us and provide the votes that make a majority.

The pro-family DEMS are not allowed to rise above state rep. If they run for state Senate ... they are usually aborted.

The pro-family DEMS are not allowed to rise above state rep.

Cause they are not welcome in that party. It's time for them and their voters and those churches to realize it.

http://www.nhregister.com/government-and-politics/20140116/new-haven-gop-fundraiser-focuses-on-future-as-tea-party-protests

NEW HAVEN >> The Republican National Committee chairman told a smokey room packed with ambitious Republicans the mantra they’re hoping to make a reality in 2014.

While Priebus and Republicans from throughout the state and facets of politics spoke amongst themselves of strategies and policy, division in their party showed itself in the form of about 25 protesters gathered across the street.

Protesters rallied with American flags and signs, chanting in unison loudly across the street from The Owl Shop, where the fundraiser was held, against the party they said was infringing on their rights — though those inside the event paid no notice, the outside chants inaudible.

The protesters were a mix of tea party conservatives, concerned with the direction of the Republican Party and angry with Republicans supporting increased gun control measures — breaking their oaths both as Republicans elected by the people, and the Constitution.

They chanted such slogans as “Gun grabbers must go,” “McKinney must go,” “Oath breakers must go,” “Defend the constitution” and “We want the bill repealed.”

I like NH with it’s 400 state reps, lots of local power there. They just legalized weed. Lets see if the itsy bitsy Senate follows suit.

Since I’ve voting no Republican has filed to run for either the State Senate or House in my district. And not many in any nearby district. That’s life in the big city.

Not if they are liberal on everything else, no. They need to decide what’s more important, free government money or decent values. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for them to decide that values are more important.

with the CT GOP, you get liberal on social issues stuff ... and liberal on everything else, too.

Except they do not have the excuse of representing a ghetto. They come from small towns with ... white folks.

I just looked up the new Senator Chapin ... who replaced Sen Roraback. Reviewed his voting record as a Rep.

He voted YES for gay civil unions in 2005. A total waste to have him in that district that belongs to a Conservative. Nothing good will come out of his time in the Senate.

FYI
I am wrong about Chapin ... I was looking at the wrong guy. Chapin was NO on gay civil unions.

I am quitting politics for a week as my punishment.

And with CT rats you have COMMUNUIST on everything.

Lets face if it, if your pal Juan Candelabra REALLY gave a damn about social issues he wouldn’t have just endorsed Eric Holder-Paul Winfield or whatever the hell his name is.
