Hyundai or KIA?

When I bought my Mustang last month, I used Truecar.com to get actual dealer prices and got a really good deal.
Pretty much the same running gear in these cars. The Elantra advertisements are showing zero down, zero% financing for 72 months. I have a 2009 Sonata that has been bullet proof. My sister has a 2011 Elantra; its been great.
what has been your experience with the Hyundai / KIA?...Never had a KIA but all my buddies love the. My last three Hyundais have all performed well with 340,000 on my 2002, 350,561 on my 2005 and about 100,000 on my 2007 (retired now). Looking to lease a Cadillac or a Mercedes now just because I deserve one. BTW, only problem with Jap or Koreans that I have seen (or felt) is the seats wear out.
Have you considered a mazda? I have a five speed Mazda 3. It’s awesome!

Depends on what’s your budget.
If something basic, then a Kia Soul would probably be good. Maximum space, good MPG, and reasonable price.
If something small, then you could go either way (H or K), just go with subjective measurements (personal comfort, looks, etc).
Overall I’ve found the Hyundai to be superior, but typically costs a little more.
Check on 100k mile warranty. Not transferable, but there may be subtle differences between brands.
If you are also considering a Subaru, avoid green Foresters.

Hyundai and Kia are the same company. Kia is the upscale version of the Hyundai.
I owned a 2003 Hyundai Accent, just basic transportation that I used to drive to our satellite facilities. I put 250K on the car over about 10 years. Every part on it was original except the timing belt (replaced water pumps with timing belt). Never replaced a CV joint, the clutch, an alternator, or anything else. It did start leaking oil around the front main seal. When my youngest son recently got his license, I brought a wrecked 2004 Accent with just over 100K miles for $700. I took the sheet metal off my 2003 and put on his 2004 and it runs great.
I don’t know anything about KIAs but my experience with Hyundais has been very positive. I have considered buying a Genesis for my wife.
May I recommend that you consider the Elantra? I personally believe the Hyundai is a little more refined than is the Kia although they are joined at the hip as car companies using common parts. I’ve also owned a Kia.
Everyone who I know at the local dealership recommend them(and I know them well and have driven for them)and I own one myself in addition to a Sonata. I still come down on the side of the Elantra and I would recommend the Limited fully loaded, although the GLS with the premium package is quite nice as well. There is a good selection now available.
You can get the Elantra with a manual if you really want one. But I would really recommend the “Preferred Package” that comes with heated front seats, steering wheel audio controls, Bluetooth, and front fog lamps. Mine listed for $19,600 and I got it for $16,200 with incentives. But it has the automatic. I saw one with the manual and it had the Homelink mirror and as I recall it stickered for in the $18’s. This is a most excellent car.
The company I quit a few months ago used fax to announce their Facebook social media campaign to us managers.
No internet allowed at the stores. No direct deposit. POS/inventory system from 1985. Manually operated shipping and receiving for 50,000 square foot warehouses.
Do you see why I quit?

Please, do not buy a honda civic, I know they are good cars and you can really drive them into the ground, but they seem to have a very deleterious effect on people’s ability to drive properly.
Kid just bought a Kia Sonata, or Sedonna, I can’t remember, she is very, extremely happy with it.
I have never in my life heard anyone discuss the cost per pound on a car. LOL
We are a 5 Honda family, but if you're not looking for the "best small car on the market" any of the others will do.
I think it maybe the reverse. Hyundai being the higher quality and I believe when I bought my hyundai the kias were only offering a 7 year warranty.
I like my Hyundai but would have been better off going the Mercedes 300 route mentioned above.
Just didn’t want another headache of someone else’s at the time and wanted have reliable transportation.
Hyundai Accent has provided a great ride to work and back for the past 10 months.
Note: Hyundai accents did not come with a spare tire when I bought mine.
A used Civic, even an older model, might be a good choice if your son is willing to settle. My brother intends on getting a new Civic, but not before Honda has had another year or two to remedy some of the reliability and styling issues in the new model.
The Honda Civic is a nice little car, but something bigger might be safer.
1st car?
If so then a ‘63 Impala w/283 & a Powerglide transmission.
16 - 25 Y.O. Male- insurance will be cheaper with the Tank, He can haul all His Friends around at one time and they pitch in for gas.
When the 1st wreck happens the other car WILL lose His will still be driveable.
