Look, I wish I could put this in less harsh terms, but we live in harsh times, so here goes:

Up until the 1960s, women guarded their virtue because they recognized that it had power and value. Men have always wanted sex, but women knew better than to just give it away. Then, Feminism convinced women to burn their bras and "take control of their sexuality", which translated to "go have a bunch of pre-marital sex because marriage is slavery".

Fast forward 40 years or so, and there are now no constraints on female sexual behavior. But women aren't going around having sex with just any men - they are all trying to get access to the top 20% or so of men - the tallest, best-looking, wealthiest, most famous guys, or the thugs and criminals who give them the tingles in their nether regions. Meanwhile, the decent men who spent their time getting degrees and careers in order to be responsible providers just aren't exciting to the now-unrestrained sexual ids of the "liberated" woman, so they get largely ignored.

Once the women push 30 and aren't as hot so that the bad boys don't want them anymore, the women then go looking for one of these "good guys" to marry them and settle down with, but NO MAN WANTS A USED UP WHORE FOR A WIFE. So these good guys say, well, I'll date her, but I'd never marry her. The ones that fail to reach this necessary conclusion get married to one of these reformed sluts, who then, being incapable of pair bonding after so much time slutting around, initiate divorce on a whim and rape the man in family court.

So, if you're looking for someone to blame for the sorry state of affairs between the sexes in this country, you need to look no further than your feminist sisters.

And, in anticipation of your first accusation, no, I've never been married. Some of us don't need to touch the hot stove to know it will burn us.

Acknowledged. Men don’t marry whores. Nobody’s disputing that.

But very few men want to marry (or even date) some gal who refuses to have sex before marriage. No one seems willing to acknowledge that.

And that fact — the new dating normal — is the root of ‘slut culture.’ That’s my only point. That and the fact is that it’s unfair to blame a nineteen-year-old with a tramp stamp and a string of exes for participating in the culture she was born into.

Yes. Women want to get married. Being sexually active is a non-negotiable prerequisite to marriage. So women have sex. But if all women are having sex, how do you get an edge on the competition? By being SEXIER! Upping the ante! So... tramp stamps. Pole dancing. Showing more skin at the office. These are peacock feathers — it’s all to attract a mate.

Again, everyone is ascribing value judgements to my posts where there are none. I’m simply reporting what is. Men and women aren’t worse by nature than they were fifty years ago. But I will assert that the slut culture is incredibly DAMAGING to both men and women.

I’m just reporting what I grew up with and what I see all around me.

Okay< I’m a woman and I’ve always found it tragically ironic that men seem to have a goal, from puberty, to bed every woman they want, are upset when they ‘miss one’, get angry when they are denied, yet WANT one everyone missed( a virgin) when(if) they want to marry. It would seem that one goal achieved will have to eliminate the other. Dating now means sex- it didn’t use to but now a man thinks a $50 dinner buys him your body. If the woman agrees, she becomes a ‘slut’. If she doesn’t, she is dumped and labeled a frigid tease.
So- if women decide to ACT like the sluts the majority of men want them to be, those same men publicly denounce them while they privately enjoy them. That’s how I see it. Private sluts, public June Cleavers-it would seem that the dichotomy is the problem.
Of course sluttiness reduces a womans value in the marriage market-because MEN want the pure, untouched icons of virtue as wives that they know they-and all their buddies-worked so hard to eliminate. It’s kinda like wanting to live in a graffiti free neighborhood when you, yourself, deface neighborhoods with graffiti.

LOL. How interesting that you consider this my personal problem while totally ignoring the overall observations re. males and ‘scoring’. I didn’t say EVERY man-but you can’t honestly say that the mentality isn’t prevalent re. score=slut. As long as MANY men consider MAKING sluts good and BEING a slut bad the dichotomy and argument will exist.

And I have observed that it is not just the ‘super alpha stud bad boy’ that lives their lives crotch first. The mentality persists well past the ‘hot guy’ phase into the portly, balding phase. They go from ‘put out’ because I’m hot and everyone wants me to ‘put out’ because I have money. It’s astonishing to me that MANY men want more from a date than they could get from a prostitute for $50. Then-if they get it- immediately think of the date as slutty as the prostitute.

Here's the problem - you have this observation of "men" that differs substantially from my observation of men. Since I'm a guy, I guarantee you I have more of an insider's perspective here. Oh, I know the type of men you are referring to - they absolutely exist. But I'm telling you that, in my experience, they represent the minority of the guys out there (beyond the college years, anyway) and I live in California, which isn't exactly the Bible Belt. I'm not in a big city, though.

I've seen a few good men get severely burned over time, men who only wanted to settle down with ONE woman and take care of her. The problem with them was that they just didn't seem to fall into the "sexy enough" category to attract the majority of women when the women were hot. Only when the women had had their "fun" did they look at these guys, and then these guys either were wise enough to avoid a commitment with these types, or fell into the trap and got burned even worse.

No doubt the relations between the sexes are broken, but I don't think you see the role women, themselves, have played in all this.

Uh...no. Some of us still respect virginity. Pressure and opportunity certainly exist, but nothing better than a woman (and man) who waited.
