It is irritating to be behind someone buying nothing but high dollar meat and paying for it in food stamps.

I was in a supermarket in Norfolk, Va. around 1984. A Black couple in front of me who appeared to be very stylishly dressed bought over $200 worth of meat and nothing else. I only had a couple of items and watched them go to an Alpha Romeo sports car.

On the other hand I have sometimes seen an old couple buy nothing but the cheapest foods, store brands, use coupons etc. It really doesn’t bother me that these people are using the food stamps as they very obviously are in need.

Phones, wheel rims, TV’s, drugs, prostitutes, booze....you can get everything with government money. Steak dinners are tame.

If food assistance is to be allowed, then it should cover flour, milk, sugar cheese, rice and the such.

What we see today with EBT cards is redistribution in the clearest socialist sense.

Food stamps should only cover rice and beans-a complete protein. That way they won’t be so many poor people who are fat.

It's pretty obvious that advances in mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods are rapidly eliminating the need for employees in basic extractive industries, agriculture, manufacturing, assembly and deployment of products to the market.

Eventually this will lead to literally everybody on earth being UNEMPLOYED ~ except for the ownership class. They will continue to hold meetings, perform analysis, trade property, seek improved products, adopt the latest fashions, drive fine cars, etc.

The old model would find its adherents arguing that we should simply use taxes to TAKE value from the national economy and give it to those without means to survive.

That's probably not the model to use since you don't have to do anything to get stuff. However, as so many of our wealthier classes of Americans tell us, it is very important that ownership be highly prized and encouraged because they ~ unlike so many others ~ create jobs.

That gave me an idea ~ make everyone an owner! Imagine America with but a single economic class ~ OWNERS ~ going to owners meetings, sipping latte at board meetings ~ every day too, not just monthly ~ focusing their all on BUSINESS and making sure it's in great shape.

A large enough economy could be sectored out in a sufficiently large number of ownership groups to provide employment for everyone!

I am on food stamps (SNAP card).

As a single male, the $200 a month I get is very helpful.

I don’t buy steaks, mostly half priced meat (because of due date) at different grocery stores.

I am still a budget shopper.

I figure that what I save on food pays for my alcohol, cigarettes and gas (and occasional pot smoking).

It is also useful for my lemons and tonic for my nightly vodka tonics.

It really does tend to make you less inclined to be productive and entrepreneurial.

We must discuss this.

I don’t think someone who can afford cigarettes, booze and a drug habit should be getting food stamps.

I was on food stamps recently. The amount they gave us was much more than we ever paid for food. You’re not limited on what you can buy either.

Question: "Is It Fair For People On Food Stamps To Buy Prime Rib While Working Families Barely Survive?"

Answer: No, of course not.

Comment: However, the question over looks the fact of a conquered-conqueror relationship. The conquerors dine the conquered grub. Get used to it.

A Spain sized clot of dependent drones is feeding at the government teat. The government is paying for it with printed monopoly money. The gravy train is about to hit a track fire. The drones will riot uncontrollably when they’ve missed their third meal.

And the government behind all this insanity tells me I don’t need quite so effective a rifle. Right.

“Fair” is only fair if it asymmetrically benefits a perceived aggrieved class.

If a white man hires a black man and they agree upon a $15 an hour wage, that’s an abusive, racist wage from the white man’s perspective. The Black man, his ancestors degraded by centuries of slavery, has no ability nor inclination to seek a better wage from the white man. Indeed, he is justified in stealing from or physically attacking the white man due to the trauma his ancestors went through.

If a Black man hires a white man and they agree upon a $15 wage, then it is fitting revenge upon the white man that the Black man can underpay him so badly.

See how it works?
