From the 2008 Heller decision of the U.S. Supreme Court:
We know of no other enumerated constitutional right whose core protection has been subjected to a freestanding “interest-balancing” approach. The very enumeration of the right takes out of the hands of government—even the Third Branch of Government—the power to decide on a case-by-case basis whether the right is really worth insisting upon.
The answer to the anti-gunner's desire for more infringements is not just "No", but "Hell, no". And the Supreme Court agrees. (At least until the usurper loads the Court with more communists.)
I have always maintained that anti-gunners and pro-gunners have underestimated the impact that the Heller decision will have.
So, then why are they pushing this like full-tilt maniacs?
Obfuscation.
Benghazi is out of the news.
Fast and Furious is out of the news.
The economy is out of the news.
The deficit and debt are out of the news.
The Obama corruption machine is out of the news (this is a catchall, but by this time you get the drift).
This gun legislation signifies nothing, but is an effective smoke screen for everything else.
I agree. That, and they will use their ultimate non-action to motivate idiots in the NE cities 2 & 4 years from now to vote against Republican gun-loving rednecks.
