I bet if the same movie was released in 1975 as a spahgetti/schlock western for 100K with no-named actors blowing away no-name euro-actors and twice the amount of n-words in the script, no one would have raised an eyebrow on either side. You can say that for pretty much all of his movies. The same movie is released in 2012 with a modern a-movie budget, modern special effects, famous idiot actors, and modern 24 hour mass media and it’s a big deal on all sides. I suppose it’s good for publicity, if nothing else.

Well, he is pretty much trying to rip-off a spaghetti western (at least in name and in the level of violence). The original Django featured Franco Nero.

If it was released in 1975 it would have been a "Blacksploitation" flick.
