interesting but...
you better not try to duplicate it because they’ll put you out of business too
Good - a right to work state!
I hope they locate a new plant in a Right-to-Work State, and can then make a profit.
Save the Ding Dongs!
Those Twinky union Ho Ho’s need to get their Ding Dongs out of that company.
The competing suitor is the Mexican baker “Grupo Bimbo”, which sounds to me like the name of a harlot girl hobbit who lurks around the local pub.
I wonder what type of sale they are looking for. A corporate buyout might mean ‘assets and liabilities’, while they just might buy out the trademark and good will and perhaps a plant or two.
I hope whatever buyout goes through that it leaves the Union out cold.
I’m sure ‘friends of labor’ have been leaning on the Bankruptcy Judge — thus the offer to mediate between the two. I’m also pretty sure that the Union has been approaching others about a buyout and package deal for a stake in the resultant company — which is what I think this was all about anyway.
Will they move the ovens to Florida?
Hostess and the union have agreed to go to mediation. Not for sale at the moment.
There are still opportunities in this for small new local companies to start up and fill the gaps left by Hostess.
Dislocation in markets creates opportunity. This PE company knows it, creative destruction in motion.
Another private equity outfit.
Is this one run by Dems or Republicans?
What Bimbo’s of Mexico may have a fight by Hurst. Darn I really wanted to see Bimbos, Twinkies, Ho Ho’s and Ding Dongs just under one roof. I would feel like instead of snack foods America would be talking about its politicians (sarcasm). Now Hurst makes me think of a shifter on a Dodge Charger.
