Impeach?
The US Congress supports anyone against
the US Constitution, from al Qaeda in the Pentagon,
State Dept, to the White House.
THEY DO NOT CARE and every single American now knows it.
He will be debriefed upon leaving the CIA...it is not an easy matter to discuss, even under House inquiry, classified information. He is essentially held mute. It wouldn’t surprise me that his clearance will be suspended also.
The only way I see around it is that he receives approval from the Executive Branch to discuss anything classified.
We all know the chances of that happening.

It’s a joke to believe this Congress will do anything to to impeach Obama. Some people are having wet dreams over Patreaous and his new status as another victim of Obama tossed under the bus. Obama has just enough black to make him impervious to any attack. The minute it starts getting hot for him the Race card will be tossed into the pile and it’s all over.
This has to be a very trying time for Gen. Petraeus, a proud and dedicated officer, who is obviously being thrown under the bus to cover Benghazi.One would hope and pray the Gen. doesn’t resort to something drastic.
I also guarantee you he has a dossier on the incident which is safely in the hands of the GOP or in someone unknown who will deliver it. Valerie and Obozo are like two turds in a toilet and Petraeus is going to flush.
Here’s hoping Obama gets totally exposed on his incompetence, his unlawful acts, his anti-Americanism, and all other offenses that the House sends articles of impeachment to Dirty Harry Reid about every other month. The political optics would be great that the Dems get slaughtered in the mid-term elections. ;-)

There is not a hope in hell that the Senate would produce even a majority for conviction, much less 2/3.

He doesn’t have to reveal anything classified; questions like “Did you receive calls for help that were forwarded to the White House?” and “Were you told to stand down by the WH or State?” are not classified communications.
Now he has a REAL good reason to tell the truth.

Very valid points, but I can not help but believe that Petraeus is the one witness who would come clean after pondering all the carnage left behind at Benghazi and the battlefield principle that was destroyed in the process. I believe he is the only one with a conscience in the administration, so they had to destroy him. Yes, he knew better when he lied about the video, but the gravity of this situation may not have sunk in yet. No excuse for lying but he can still redeem himself if he admits he lied and then proceeds to crack this treasonous conspiracy open.
He was probably being blackmailed.
The worst thing they had against him was this.
He threw it out there, and now they have nothing.
Now if they want to shut him up, they have to arrange his suicide... which I would not put past them.

I would offer that if any testimony from Petraeus is just so damning that it leaves no shadow of doubt that oblunder lied, covered up, watched Americans die with help available that was stood down and showed complete ineptitude, then it’s likely that there’s some senators especially the 20 up for re-election in 2014 would vote to convict. They won’t want to be tied to this in any way. They’d have the concession that they’d still have Biden (d) as president.

Elsewhere the consensus was reached that Patraeus resigned because Obama ordered him either to not give intelligence information to Israel for their attack against Iran; or to tell Israel that the US will give intelligence information to Iran to prevent the Israeli attack.
And Patraeus refused.

Petraeus is an Obama supporter. His wife worked for and supported Liz Warren, Obama’s puppet. Petraeus didn’t resign before the election to avoid harming Obama’s re-election chances.
Now that the election is over and his guy has won, he quickly resigned because the affair that many people were aware of was about to become common knowledge. His abrupt resignation was a “surgical strike” to attempt to minimize the damage to his own reputation, and immunize the administration as much as possible in regard to his Benghazi testimony.

Of course his Security Clearance will be revoked, if it has not already. So what?
EVERYONE who leaves Gov't Service including all Military Personnel automatically have their Security Clearances revoked because why would they need them, as they would no longer have access to classified info.
As a covert Intel Agent while serving in Vietnam, I still will not divulge to anyone some of the secrets I learned and knew then (some 46 years ago) NOT because there is anything preventing me from doing so (legally) simply because I choose not too just in case what I said might somehow impact those who continue to serve in that Organization.
There is NO WAY, Dear Leader (or anyone) can keep P from being subpoenaed or from testifying--not that I don't expect this corrupt Regime to try, maybe by invoking "Executive Privilege", which just won't fly--especially if it is done in Secret Sessions.....and you can take that to the bank.

You do not automatically get your clearance revoked, you get your “access” revoked. Clearances have a lifespan depending on the type. A secret last 10 years. Access is another matter entirely, that is revoked ASAP and has to be reinstated. You can in some circumstances have a clearance revoked, adultery has never been one reason I know of, unless it was part of some other conviction by a court.

He was being blackmailed to play along that it was the video. When blame was coming from the White House that the intelligence community told the men on site to stand down then he stood up and made his carefully worded statement and then leaked the CIA’s timeline of events.
By not falling on the sword for Obama, Petraeus made his own decision to publicly resign.

The Senate does no impeach - that takes place in the House. The Senate will vote to remove and we all know how that will go. BUT there are a bunch of senators up for reelection in 2 years and if Obama stinks and they acquit him those senators are ripe for a fall.
Really thought today’s headlines would be of Petraus having had an unexpected “accident” or a self-inflicted one...
I used to respect Petraeus, but he has allowed himself to be compromised, and at a time and situation where he needed to live up to your accolades if was to be useful to America. He may surprise me and do the right thing and fall on his sword for the American People instead of for Zero, but I really doubt it.

Not quite true. I know someone who worked for the NSA and still retains his clearance. There are retirees, for example, that retain their clearances. As for the CIA, they do anything they want because they don't operate the same; they handle their own clearances apart from the normal DoD security operation. When you are debriefed, you acknowledge that you still are not to relate anything classified that you know. It's the 5/500000 penalty.
If black made you impervious to attack, we would have no blacks in jail.
That all depends on what is discovered in the House. The fact that the Senate is under Dem control, will actually help the impeachment process get started. Dems will know that the only way Obama could be removed would be if half the Dem senators wanted him removed. And they might depending on what is discovered in the House. The next US Senate elections have more Dems then Pubs up for reelection.
