“Eliminate the welfare state and you eliminate a big chunk of the problem.”

Without question.

+1 !

If it did, you can bet that after a couple of years, the lib half would come “demanding” to be bailed out...heh heh

“If it does happen, the end of the US in it’s present form may not necessarily mean “the end”.”

Nothing lasts forever. Nothing.
Not even nations.

The United States of America had a good run, but I sense that its time is drawing close to the end — at least the end of America “as we know and recognize it to be”.

Something else is coming down the pike. We can’t be sure of what form it will take yet.

It may be a continuance of the USA as a territorial entity, but with a significantly different form of government, as distinguished from the government which it was bequeathed by its founders. The “government that is coming” may be something far more akin to socialism (many here would claim it already is), with the notion of “the rule of law” largely replaced by the “rule of man/men” (more power concentrated in the presidency, but vastly more power in the hands of bureaucrats and regulators). Oh, we’ll still have the same flag, and the same “Constitution” on paper, but it will have become pretty much “for show” only — as quaint and ancient as the Magna Carta is for the British.

Or, it could be some kind of “North American Union” between Mexico and the United States, perhaps with Canada as well. We are certainly moving towards a situation where the Southern Border is all-but dissolved, since the federal government no longer seems to have any interest in maintaining its integrity nor any desire to control the deluge that pours across it.

Finally, it could go the other way — that is, we could see some kind of Soviet-style breakup of North America and the formation of several “new nations” involving the USA, Canada, and perhaps Mexico (with the emergence of Atzlan taking southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and even a portion of Texas).

For those reading this who laugh at the notion of an American breakup, think back to 1980. If someone had suggested then that within a dozen years, the mighty Soviet Union would exist no more, how would you have regarded such a statement?

As a child, I was taught the Pledge of Allegiance with the line, “one nation, indivisible”. That may have been true in the 1950’s, but it’s no longer the case, not at all. Look at the “division” that exists between “the reds” and “the blues” today. And the gaps are deepening into chasms. The country is literally splitting apart into two opposing camps, even if the borders for now remain intact.

What was the remark that Ben Franklin made to the woman who, during the Constitutional Convention, inquired as to what form of government they had worked out for the new nation?
“A republic, if you can keep it”, I believe he said.

Well, we had a republic for quite some time, but after the 1950’s we seem to have lost interest in “keeping it”. Instead, in a hopeless drive to be “egalitarian” and compassionate, we have literally given it away.

It remains to be seen what we’ll end up with, in its stead.

It looks like this Russian may have been right after all, only a couple years late?

These Mexican immigrants are hardly the “worst of the worst,” from my perspective. As one Freeper astutely admitted recently, “I’ve never seen a Mexican panhandler here in the U.S.”

How stupid can you possibly be?

Tens of millions of illegals routinely break our laws and rules, costing the U.S. hundreds of billions in handouts, prizes, incentives, like welfare, free healthy care, jamming our school, education, driving down wages, choking off our hospitals, social services

WTF is wrong with you?

I'll be the first to admit that my perspective is based on my own region of the country (and I did say: "from my perspective" in my post), but from everything I've seen it ain't Mexican immigrants who "routinely break our laws and rules, costing the U.S. hundreds of billions in handouts, prizes, incentives, like welfare, free healthy care, jamming our schools, education, etc." American citizens turned entire cities of this country to crap this way for years before we even recognized illegal immigration as a problem.

And the irony is that only way an illegal immigrant from Mexico can possibly "drive down wages" is by getting out of bed and going to work every day. There are families of Americans who haven't done that in several generations.

From my perspective, the biggest problem with many of the tens of millions of illegal aliens who come here from Mexico is that we can't send 2-3 useless, expensive Americans back the other way as part of a trade.

I love exposing people like you suggesting millions of these illegal welfare blood suckers are not choking off America at every level.

Even in red states like Texas, they are eating our system alive.

Based on your own comments, you're a traitor and liar spewing absolute bull sh*t.

70% of Texas’ illegal immigrant families receive welfare

Man, you really hate America.

I'd like to stand ya up to a group of former construction workers and see ya tell them how lazy they are.

See ya tell that to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who once had good paying jobs with benefits in all aspects of the construction industry. Where the greedy assh*les running those industries discovered about 30 years ago they could get wealthy fast paying illegals half the GD wages.

Same in the service industries, restaurant, hotel, manufacturing, distribution centers/warehousing etc.

You're an American hating, illegal alien supporting, lying traitor.

“70% of Texas’ illegal immigrant families receive welfare”

And, let’s not forget, a lot of that money goes back to Mexico.

Between government at all levels, and millions of illegals, the American people are being robbed, beaten and economically gang raped on a daily basis.

Looking at the numbers to support these two groups, we’re doomed. No joke.

Hence the parallels to SA that I wrote. Their illegal alien problem is one of the big reasons their country is headed to complete and utter collapse.

Our illegal alien problem will doom us, too. Sooner rather than later.

My father witnessing 0bama’s daily intolerable stunts led to his failing health.

I'm 46 so maybe that could be par for the course but ever since the Bamster got in, I've been seeing a lot more grey hairs on my head and beard (when I don't shave).

Government theft of a country, away from it’s people. And a black man is being used to commandeer it because no one has the guts to challenge him.

I have to be blunt, I can't express it any other way. Race is a factor in both the 2008 and 2012 election since the left and Obama & Co himself/themselves play The Race Card as a defense to every tactic we use with The Blame George W. Bush Card as a close second.

In many ways, Obama is stereotypical of the ways Blacks have been seen for years. Obama basically shucks and jives his way to fool the stupid rubes that will vote for him with the skill of an expert wheeler/dealer from the southside of Chicago. When the money runs out after a night of pure debauchery and/or things get tough, out comes The Race Card and he'll cry like the manboy he really is. He is doing the dirtywork of the KKK and Stormfront all by himself in making sure an image like this. This might hurt the Black politicians on our side as well, I sure hope not. I would have been honored to see the first Black President with the likes of an Alan Keyes, Walter Williams, Alan West, Herman Cain, etc.

All I know is that we have to challenge him and ignore the The Race Card and so on, no matter what happens. We have to save this country. I'd vote for anyone but Obama. Maybe we might not get all we want with Romney but at least we stand to get most of that we want and need. If I had to vote against Obama, I'd vote for Allen West, George Wallace or even a one-eyed, one legged duck.

It’s funny. Obama’s election was supposed to end racial tension in the US, but it has instead Balkanized us in ways that the Neo-Nazis and Black Separatists could never have accomplished in a 1000 years.

It's like a former boss of mine said, "Obama has set back race relations back to 1970 if not further back."

My mother is 74 and when she met with her classmates from the high school class of 1956 last year, many of those are Tea-Party members. At least we have these people actively working since many of us have to hold down jobs, although I’m between jobs now.
