GOP:"We Can't Do Anything About Biased Moderators." Bull! (Action Alert)
The Red Side of Life ^ | 8/15/12 | RedInNewYork

Posted on 08/15/2012 7:21:06 AM PDT by jmstein7

Yesterday, after hundreds of irate conservatives called to complain about the extremely leftist panel of presidential debate moderators, the GOP began telling callers that there was nothing they could do about it and that they should contact the "non-partisan" commission on Presidential debates. This is outrageous! Of course they can do something about it - they can man-up and say "no!"

To add insult to injury, instead of standing up for their conservative constituents, the GOP blasted the sources of outrage on Free Republic and Twitter - they have decided to shoot the messenger.

First, I strongly urge anyone who cares about freedom, fairness, and reforming the GOP (getting the GOP-e OUT), to call in to the following shows and shine the light on the cockroaches at the RNC who are supposed to be supporting us, not ignoring and attacking us:

Rush Limbaugh: 1-800-282-2882
Sean Hannity: 1-800-941-SEAN
Mark Levin: 1-877-381-3811

Tip: first call in about an hour before the show starts. If enough people call, at least one will get through and on the air.

This is an important issue!!! Let's review:

A couple of days ago the moderators for the Presidential and the VP debates were announced. As expected, it’s an All-Star team of exceptionally Liberal and horrifically biased “journalists”:
First presidential debate:

Jim Lehrer, Executive Editor of the PBS NewsHour
Wednesday, October 3, University of Denver, Denver, CO

Vice presidential debate:

Martha Raddatz, Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent, ABC News
Thursday, October 11, Centre College, Danville, KY

Second presidential debate (town meeting):

Candy Crowley, Chief Political Correspondent, CNN and Anchor, CNN’s State of the Union
Tuesday, October 16, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY

Third presidential debate:

Bob Schieffer, Chief Washington Correspondent, CBS News and Moderator, Face the Nation
Monday, October 22, Lynn University, Boca Raton, FL

Why Republicans continue to agree to having these debates moderated by biased Liberals. We should either refuse, or insist upon our own selected moderators for half of the debates.
About the only way to get any more biased would be to have Soledad O’Brien (complete with her Obama bumper sticker plastered to her forehead and clutching a copy of the latest Democrat talking points from Talking Points Memo).
Yet despite having their all-star biased stacked team, the Democrats are still insisting that some questions be off limits:
Some Democratic lawmakers want to make sure that one question does not get asked at the upcoming first presidential debate – about Simpson-Bowles.

Three Democratic House members objected Tuesday to a request by four senators that President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney be asked which of the commission’s proposals to address the debt they support. The Democrats said such a question would force “candidates to choose solutions from one menu of options.”

Yes…by all means…please don’t ask about the only bi-partisan debt-reduction solution that exists.
You want to know the absolute best indicator that a question should be asked during the debate? If one party or the other insist that it should be barred.

Of course the real reason Dems don’t the question asked of Prez Barky is he’ll have to explain how and why he wasted millions on a commission he didn’t want and to which he paid no attention.
HT to Robbie Cooper

So, keep POUNDING AWAY at the RNC and the Campaign:

Together, we can make a difference.

Actually, the debate “moderators” are chosen by two people, one a Republican (a former RNC official), one a Democrat.
I pity the Republican. Given the MSM talent pool he had to choose from, this group was probably the best he could agree to.
That shouldn’t stop the rest of us from criticizing the bias of the moderators.

When playing poker, and you know the other guy has marked the cards, the best course of action is to just shoot the dealer. If these supposed moderators start asking loaded questions, call them out on it, and then torch them for their bias in such a way that they won’t even realize they’ve had their throats cut. A debate is useless without an indifferent unbiased moderator.

Just wrote to the GOP.

Told them “just say no” to these so called Moderators; if they won’t change them, tell the Commission to get lost, and just host a primetime Town Hall meeting on various TV channels.

Why should we accept the libs prepping the battlefield for us? Why accept the same old tired format?

Does anyone in their right mind think this will be “objective”?

C’mon, Mr. Priebus, show some muscle.

Just called the RNC, I was told there have been hundreds of phone calls regarding this issue. I was told the RNC does not pick the moderators, that they are chosen by the commission on presidential debates, a non-partisan organization. I said, you call these moderators non-partisan? Romney could have said NO, that the circumstances are once again stacked against the republicans and there will be no debates unless this is rectified. I went on to say that is it not obvious to the RNC after the standing ovation Gingrich got at the debates when he called out media, that the people are starved for someone to confront the radical media. He told me to stop getting nasty (I wasn’t) that we were on the same side and to direct my call to the commission.

Nobody did that better than Newt. Ever.

I wanted so much to see the Trump debate (and EVERYONE would have watched) but they pubs cut that down because they knew someone like Newt would have tanned Romney’s butt for him.

This is horrid. Stuff like this lets me know that the RPTB (Republican powers that be) aren’t really about conservative principles at all. It’s not about educating people in good ways or Constitutional ways. It’s about keeping the gravy train going, and about doing it with tripe and circuses and personalities. Just like the Dems do, with THEIR folks.

The DUer’s are right, in one thing. The real believers will NEVER get power. They are just the useful idiots to keep corrupt politicians in places where money can be siphoned off the taxpayers into certain pockets.

I'm so sick and tired of the Republican's excuses, I'm about to puke.

How's this for a solution: Refuse to participate, period.

Buy time on the three major networks for one hour each and have Romney/Ryan outline their economic recovery plan DIRECTLY to the American people. Do that before the FIRST debate is scheduled to happen.

At the end of the hour, tell the American people WHY Romney/Ryan won't be in the debates and call on them to demand fairness in the debate moderators by calling each major networks' headquarters and registering their unhappiness with the debate "moderators."

Only agree to participate in any debate AFTER the moderator panel's have become "fair and unbalanced."

In my heart of hearts, I know this would work, Reagan often bypassed the liberal lamestream media and took his message DIRECTLY to the People. Nothing caused fear in Congress more than Reagan telling the American people to call their Congressional representatives and make their voices heard!

It worked on Congress, it'll work on these piss-ant Kenyan run tv networks.

Yes, the RNC has instructed its people to ask if they got the info from Free Republic. Pathetic.

They have gotten hundreds of calls. They have been saying that there is nothing they can do and ref’g people to the debate commission. This is bull.

They can indeed do something. Keep the pressure ON them!

Call the campaign too! And don’t forget to try to call in to Rush, Hannity, and Levin to let them know what the RNC is doing (or NOT doing).

The RNC hates activism... that’s why they hate the tea party folks.

Waking up everyday to get slapped around is getting tiresome.

Yep, it sure is. Especially when people like you and I go to work, and the fat, lazy, government-cheese-eating welfare queens and their 14 dids all demand we pay MORE to support them.

I'm really, truly beginning to understand why some folks go postal.

Instead of complaining about who's moderating, we should just encourage Romney and Ryan to stay on message. No matter what's asked, they need to be able to answer in such a way that they get THEIR message out to the American people.

They should have an idea by then what will be asked. There WILL be questions about offshore accounts, tax rates, the Republican 'War on Women', all the Democrat talking points, so they should be prepared to give the answer THEY want to give, without being defensive in any way. Being positive and cheerful will go a long way toward drawing more voters to themselves.

Are there any conservative moderators available from the pool of journalists?

Clearly. FNC is the top cable news network, yet they chose from CNN, one at the bottom. And Candy “the Hutt” Crowly of all people, because “she’s a woman.” Well, so is Megyn Kelly!
