Free Republic's Jim Robinson Makes the Turn

punish RINOs in the House
I respect those who are still die-hard for beating Romney, but that is yesterday’s fight. The danger is not in seeming inconsistent–trust me; we left marks all over that Romney fellow, and he will not forget us. Maybe next time we will unseat him like we are about to do to Lugar, and a number of other RINOs. And this is the fight for today: punish RINOs in the House and especially Lugar in the Senate. Tomorrow’s fight is back to the White House to get Obama out of my chair.

their friends could use the help
Those who still toil in the fields of Newt are at great risk of becoming irrelevant, the one thing they must not become. They poke and stab at the bodies of friends and enemies alike from a long-finished battle, while their friends could use the help a valley away, where the fight is now.

to engage on the next fight, disengage from the previous
Jim at Free Republic did the right thing, and must pull his readership back together to allow Free Republic to become once more the hammer of the right. He could stand on the conservative Jihad, stabbing at thee from the heart of Hell etc etc, but the fact is, Freepers need to engage on the next fight, and in order to do that–they must disengage from the previous.

I do not believe you are too harsh in describing Obama.

I think you are being ridiculously harsh in describing principled conservatives who wish to vote their consciences as traitors. I find it beyond the pale.

I also reject out of hand the notion that a vote for a conservative enables Obama. A vote for a conservative is a vote for a conservative. Nothing more and certainly nothing less.

nope anything less than a vote for somebody who has a chance to beat obama is a vote for obama.

Spin it anyway you want but if, as you just said, you agree that he is a traitorous bastard bent on destroying this country and you do not do everything in your power to stop him then...well, you know what I think.

There is no 2016.

You can't spin basic math. If I have three choices (and despite what you'd have people think, I WILL have three choices) and vote thusly:

Romney
0bama
Actual Conservative (x)

The vote is now:
Romney 0
0bama 0
Actual Conservative 1

If enough people would simply stick to their principles and do, as you say, 'everything in (their) power' to reject the liberal who is taking over the Republican Party, does Obama win? No. So why are you trying to convince people to accept the liberal who is taking over the Republican Party?

People seem to forget that the Reagan Coalition included conservative Democrats who couldn't stomach Jimmy Carter or Walter Mondale. I refuse to believe that this coalition is dead. 0bama is hugely unpopular and can be beaten -- but his clone Romney does not advance conservatism, nor does he give conservatives the momentum they need to either return the Republican Party to its base or to grow a viable alternative.

There is no 2016.

Only the Mayan calendar ends this year. There will be a 2016, and I am busting my rear end to help conservative candidates all over my ticket to help us get there. I assume you are too. I'd like conservatives running the Republican Party when 2016 happens.

And by the way, I'd never call you a traitor. You're trying to get rid of 0bama in your own way. Good on you. But don't suggest I'm a traitor for sticking to conservative principles.

And yet, you’re saying all this in defense of a candidate for President whose actions in office blatantly violated the Constitution, and whose current positions continue to promote ideas that are counter to the principles and purposes of the same.

If you want to escalate to that sort of language, you’re going to find out that it is our side that actually has the facts on our side, not you. If anyone is being disloyal to the country, it ain’t us.

I just reread them. Not only is there no emotionalism in what I said, there’s none in the guy who typed the words. I know this to be true, because it was me.

I simply stated facts, ones with which you obviously can’t deal.

Please, explain how a vote for a liberal advances conservatism, and how a vote for a conservative advances liberalism.

Good luck.

EV, there is nothing I or anyone else could say that would make any difference to you. No logic or reason will make a bit of difference.

But, I have hope for you.

Nice try sparky, I have said nothing in defense of any candidate...no surprise that you got it wrong again.

Perhaps I was not literal enough for you, sometimes I forget that a few of you need things spelled out. Give obama another four years to put two more radical lesbians on the SCOTUS and there will be no 2016 for the GOP, Conservatives or anybody who loves America as it should be. Instead we will have forty plus years of the Sotomayor Court. If you don’t understand that then I really can’t help you.

But there is no logic or reason in the claim that you somehow forward what you claim to believe in by supporting what you say you hate.

That’s why you can’t respond with anything except non sequiturs and personal attacks. You’ve got no choice but to do that, or to admit you’re wrong, or to simply leave it alone.

I am saying I would vote for a ham sandwich over obozo. I am even going so far as to say I would vote for hillary clinton over obozo and that is saying a whole lot!

Perhaps I was not literal enough for you

It's not merely that you are unable to construct a reasoned and credible argument; it's that your shrill fear baiting has stooped to the level of buffoonery. Every four years with this nonsense. It's why nobody takes you seriously anymore. Enough! Stop. Open a window. Breathe.

Oh, the certainty of a Sotomayor SCOTUS is not enough for you? Why is that? What do you think will stop that from happening? What do you think this country will look like after forty years of a radical lesbian SC? What do you think it will look like after four years of unrestrained EOs from obama's second term?

Please be specific in your answers.

Please be specific in your answers.

You want specific answers to hyperbole and fantastical conjecture? LOL! Yer killin' me here.

I could just as easily ask you to tell me what liberties you will still retain after four more years of Agenda 21 under either Romney or Obama - makes no difference, especially in light of Massachusetts having been the testbed - and "be specific". But in actuality I neither expect an answer from you, nor care.

It is too late. I hope you've been prepping. I have.
