Need some Freeper Help Regarding a charge of racism due to Obama Presidency
complete vanity | 1/21/12

Posted on 01/21/2012 9:03:25 PM PST by hope

Here's the gist..My daughter a senior got into a discussion with other students in her last hour class about President Obama, whether or not he is a good president. As she voiced her opinion that he was a bad president for our country and that she felt he was ushered into office because people were excited to elect the first black president was one reason he was elected and to our detriment he was not properly vetted..

Well the teacher interjected and called her a racist for her opinion. The bell rang and it was left at that.

I'm livid and will be calling out this teacher on Monday.

Just to let you all know, my family is very diverse and we come from many different cultures.

I am married to a man who is 1/16 Sioux Indian. I have 3 hispanic neices and a nephew. I have four African American neices and nephews. My kids never have been taught to judge people on ethnicity. I think our only sin is we are conservative and Christian according to the lefties.

So if you all don't mind praying for me that I will have the wisdom to approach the situation, I would truly appreciate it. My heritage as a hillibilly raised in rural Michigan is a huge dis-advantage for me!

Thanks all!

If it were me, I would mock the entire notion of “racism”, and refuse to defend myself to prove that I or my daughter are not “racist”, because, etc. I’d even say to this teacher, yeah I’m racist, whatcha gonna do?!

I don’t believe in the very idea of “racism”, which is, if you trace it back, a propaganda device invented during the 1930s and 40s by the Soviets to brand the western colonialism, and caught on better than hula hoop in the States and in Western Europe. It is sickening to me that this “racism” thing has become such an article of faith, that no one questions, and there is no better word for it, among Americans.

Recall that race based scientific theories were something that German Nazis developed, and to call someone “racist” today associates that person with that particular movement. Lovely. That was the very idea of the Soviet propagandists. And it works like a charm.

This is not much of an advice to you, I’m sorry, just a little background.

On Monday she is suppose to prove to this teacher she is not a racist.

How is she supposed to do that?

Answer: She's not. It's a set-up by the teacher meant to cause your kid to break down in tears, while the teacher and other students feel satisfied.

It's impossible to prove to someone you're not a racist. By trying, one is accepting that there need be such proof.

I'd forbid my kid to engage in this and instead I'd talk to this teacher's boss. Your kid is being stigmatized by the teacher bringing personal politics into the classroom.

Sorry about my last comment hope. I just really despise these people.

From my experience of dealing with these kinds of people, they are unreachable. If your daughter goes point by point detailing Obama's corruption, the teacher will just lie with amazing alacrity and enthusiasm. Unless the other students are poltically sophisticated they won't know the difference. I 've had better luck targeting the audience. Find out what kind of students are in the class. What is their predisposition. Are they mostly jocks? Then debate the teacher about a subject the jocks are familiar with etc.

That’s when you ask the “teacher”, “Is the race card all you’ve got?”

Take a copy of the communist manifesto to the meeting. Omullah matches it perfectly.

Contact the principal and president of the school board as well.
Write a letter to the board that will get read at their next meeting.
The incident needs to be “recorded”

Your color and your family's diversity are completely irrelevant as to whether you have right to an opinion regarding Obama's competence as President. You've lost the battle if you defend yourself that way. It's just what they want.

Second. The (liberal) "teacher" is not interested in the truth. The proof of that is the demand that your daughter prove she is not a racist. Liberals always demand that their opponents prove a negative. Logically impossible. One cannot prove a negative.

This is what she should do:
Your daughter responds by pointing out that proving a negative is a fallacy in logic and then telling the teacher she will prove she is not a racist when the teacher can prove that he/she doesn't cheat on their spouse; or doesn't steal cars, or never speeds in a car, has never shoplifted, etc etc.

Simply can't be done. So the teacher's demand is spurious and ad hominum. Which she might also point out (politely of course).

Thank you all..We will be reading carefully all your replies. What an awesome community FR is! We are so diverse and well intentioned. Not one of us are like the leftist who sit and accuse of the very evil they themselves plot.

Don’t defend your daughter or bring up your family ethnicity! She has done nothing wrong.. she needs no defense.

Go on the offensive. Explain to the teacher that accusing someone of racism is a serious thing and can have serious consequences for any student facing such an accusation. Explain to the teacher that racism is a pattern of behavior and not just a single incident. Then demand that the teacher prove that there is a pattern of racism in your daughter or else retract his accusation before the same audience that heard it previously (or even perhaps an extended audience). Don’t back down and don’t settle for anything less.

Prayers up for you and yours.

You're livid because a racist called your daughter a racist ?

Just call her a bad teacher and be done with it.

Are either of you going to do anything positive because youo're livid and want to give her a piece of your mind ?

Make your daughter's remaining time with this teacher easier ... keep quiet.

Obama got the nod for multiple reasons. Being an exotic choice was one (kind of like the way the impractically isolationist Ron Paul gets a lot of fan following today). Obama wasn’t just black, he was Kenyan in all but technicality (if that much, but we don’t want to get into that argument for this purpose). Another was the virtual non-opposition of John McCain (”there’s no reason to fear a President Obama” — really? even if his policies stink to high heaven?). A third reason was Acorning.

See my comment #69.

I’d do as you suggest and conference with the head administrator, but be prepared for the same crap from that person.

I’d have the teacher at the conference and present my argument that the teacher prove one or more of the negatives as I suggested. He can’t.

Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

I hate that you feel obligated to prove you *aren’t* a racist. That’s just the 8-ball that liberals put you behind and then *they* get to sit in judgement. You can’t win that argument because the true racists will never let you win the argument, so don’t even try to meet them on those terms.

Don’t meet with the teacher. Insist on meeting with the principal. And turn the argument 180 degrees. Tell them you insist on having your daughter not taught by someone so bigoted and narrow-minded (go ahead. use those words) as to believe that any criticism, however mild, of Obama must only be due to racism.

But be prepared to have evidence to back up your daughter’s assertion that Obama was elected due to race (it shouldn’t be too hard to cite examples) and conclude that no white candidate would possibly be considered qualified with such a thin resume.

Remind them that YOU are the taxpayer and YOU are the customer and if you’re not satisfied with the answers you are getting that you plan to take it up with the school board and (if he’s Republican) your congressman.

Be aggressive but don’t make idle threats. They are being fascists and bullies and if you intend to confront the bully, you better not show them any weakness because that is what they are counting on.

Good luck.

Your advice may be the best for my daughter in the long run. But, I will be calling on the principal and requesting a meeting with this teacher, my daughter and myself in private to discuss the matter and to hammer home why this teacher needs to control her political opinion in front of her class.

God bless you and your daughter! I wish we lived closer! I have the perfect T-shirt for your daughter to wear to school on Monday! It says,

"I am NOT a racist! I don't like the policies of Obama's white half either!"

Is your daughter’s teacher named “Juan Williams”? (He is certainly one of those kinds of people who like to go around charging other people with racism without any basis in fact, simply because they disagree with his nonsensical ultra-liberal views.)

I’d go straight to the principal. Let them know what she said to your child. Be prepared for a meeting. Let them know you daughter felt bullied and scared of what she said. Then I would pray, think slowly and deliberately, talk slowly and deliberately, put your foot on the teachers neck slowly and deliberately. Whisper in her ear, Obama is a bad man, a very a bad man. And then give her some kind of strange grin and laugh. Shouldn’t have any more problems with her.
