You make a good point about Chrysostom. That is indeed evidence for at least some sort of continuing Hebrew Christian community, thanks for that.

I did read that link. The problem is I’m not sure where *they* are getting their information. Christmas appears on the Philocalian Calendar of 354. Constantine was long dead by then—he might have instituted the feast, but probably not, considering Chrysostom at least believed the date was kept from time immemorial in Rome. And he was probably right, considering Hippolytus’s testimony in the 200s.

Christmas was not, that I am aware, ever discussed in the Council of Nicaea, though the date of Easter certainly was. And I have never seen or heard mention any edict of Constantine regarding Christmas. I suspect someone at that website is seriously confused.
