A super PAC supporting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich launched during the CNBC presidential debate Wednesday night, to support Newt Gingrichs comeback run for president.
The super PAC, called Solutions 2012, was formed to support Gingrichs campaign by providing the resources and manpower that the campaign currently lacks.
After most of his campaign staff quit this summer, Gingrich has been running a pared down campaign, both in terms of people and resources. His campaign brought in only $800,000 in the third quarter, and he had only $353,416 in the bank at the end of that quarter.

Last year? Try last MONTH. :p
You may have misunderstood. I never indicated he was a perfect candidate, in fact he is far from given the points you noted & then some. However, as I stated, they all have baggage in one form or another.
I would rather have someone else. But, I am a pragmatist. I would happily vote for any of these guys. Not one of them, Newt included w/ all his morality problems, is even close to being worse than Obama.
Newt is a pragmatist as well. He will work w/ what he’s got. If he is given a Congress w/ a bunch of country club Republicans, he’ll probably govern accordingly. If Conservatives sweep into office & have more influence, he’ll probably govern along those lines.
But the most important thing in my mind is who he will put on the courts. There are many important issues facing America right now, but who will be sitting on those courts for LIFETIME appointments is the most important at this point. Because of his background, Newt will select strict Constitutionalists for those positions.
Again, Obama must go!
By the way, I personally would love to see the right Mormon fill that seat because of what I believe they stand for. At times, Romney has not been a good example of what Mormon’s believe & stand for. That being said, I would vote for Romney in a heart beat over Obama.
TAke a chill pill = you’ll live longer
bump.
He shot his mouth off with the "princess Pelosi" remark tonight in the midst of a firestorm largely about whether he looks down upon woman. That alone could give her the Speakership if he's the nominee.
He continues to have faith in loose cannon Mark Block and Cain himself is happy to be lax on specifics and casual on foreign policy.
2012 is a fiasco in the making, an election when Americans cannot afford four more years of "radical transformation" and the GOP look every bit like they'll find a way to sweep Dems back into complete power.
“Again, Obama must go!”
On this we agree, 200 percent!
He also claimed to be a bigger gay rights supporter then Ted Kennedy.
At first Kennedys staff laughed at it.....then, just listening to Romney and readying his letters to gay groups, were actually afraid, that the claim was believable (Kennedys people would never actually believe anyone was to the left of Kennedy, but they sure as hell thought that the way Romney was campaigning, voters couldn't be blamed if they thought so).
The difference between Romney and Obama, is NOT policy, it is NOT ideology, its competence........And can someone out there, some Romney supporter please explain to me, why the hell we would want a competent leftist over an incompetent one ??????
You will end up very disappointed in Gingrich. His entire career has shown him to be desperate for establishment and media approval. I like what he says, too, I just don’t believe he would follow through. He is the consummate big-government Republican.
Exactly correct. There are a lot of freepers and tea partiers who appear to believe that naivete is a positive virtue in a candidate.
They are wrong.
Last year there was a chance that someone like DeMint, Pence, Daniels, or Ryan would make a run.
Instead we are left with:
Newt,
Cain (who I would certainly support in the general, but not against Newt in the primaries),
Ron Paul (who I would support for Sec Treas in a heartbeat, but not POTUS)
and a collection of limp dishrags.
I trust Herman Caine too. That being said, I basically trust every one of the candidates much more than the current president. And don’t kid yourself, each and every one of them has one form of baggage or another...the president isn’t carrying baggage-he’s the bag.
Newt is the most intelligent candidate and also the candidate with the most proven success. How can you argue with results?
Four balanced budgets in a row isn’t something to soft pedal.
He may not be as likeable as Caine or whomever else you like, but I trust him to fix the problems of this country, because he’s got a history of results...far exceeding anyone else in the running.
Ive been leaning this way since Palin opted out
Please put me on your Newt list
Sure, Gingrich has a disappointing history in some areas. Wasn’t he the leader of the Republican sweep in the 90’s? Wasn’t he responsible for the “Contract w America”? Didn’t he produce 4 straight balanced budgets w/ no other than Bill Clinton?
He has some disappointments. He also has some enormous accomplishments. At this point, we need those accomplishments again. I think he has learned from those disappointing times. When he was Speaker, he lead well for the better part. It was often only when he was out of the leadership role that he had his brain farts. I think he’ll be ok.
For the sake of our nation, Obama must go!
Two very important about reports and threads on Newt and his way of leading, campaigning, voting and his being purportedly a conservative when in fact the opposite is true. He is conservative in name only. He has from the beginning planned to be President., and done what looked good to get there.
Newt has been my choice and still is.
