Hmmm....

The Fed Reserve would be the only ones who’d buy the debt.
The rest of the bond market wouldn’t touch it.

Then, when congress didn’t retroactively authorize it the Fed would take the loss.

What a platform for Dems to run on: “Vote for me to tax you for the Federal Reserve’s sake!”

Where does it say in the 14th Amendment that the federal government has the power to regulate the employment practices and customer service of private businesses?

By putting this out there if obama DOESN’T do it on his own then he will be blamed. His “friends” are certainly not doing him any favors.

What this would be comparable to is a loan officer approving a mortgage after the underwriter has denied it. I doubt if a seller would accept the money if he knew it wasn’t legally approved.

It doesn’t, but that’s not my question.

I mean this in all seriousness: what are they bastardizing/twisting to make it “acceptable” for Obamao to raise the debt ceiling unilaterally and without Congressional approval?

They are reading the 14th amendment wrong.

Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the Unites States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pension and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

authorized by law - Congress is the only body able to do this.

shall not be questioned - the administration is required to honor the debt as priority 1 above all other expenses. Obama is in breach of the constitution if he fails to apply available revenue to interest on the debt and social security.

There is roughly 190 billion in revenue in August. The Treasury must first pay interest, social security and federal pensions prior to paying for anything else.

House Republicans need to put it out without equivocation that any attempt to subvert the Constitution in this manner will result in an IMMEDIATE impeachment vote.

AGREED. IMHO I do not believe Harry would hold the trial.

And when has Obama ever bowed to the courts’ decisions?

He wouldn’t have the choice on whether to hold the trial. Of course, he would be acquitted in the senate, but congress will have set the example that it cannot be subverted.

Well, she may just be making up reasons not to be on his cabinet again (and who can blame her, rats and sinking ships and all).

The House can impeach but the Senate won’t convict.

The dems don’t care about impeachment. They only care about the money flowing past the next election.

Of course...but he’ll wear that label the rest of his life...like bubba boy...but remember impeachment proceedings bring out all the ugly details for the public to see. That is why the house would be smart to have impeachment hearings...then impeach him...he has become such a liability to the DNC...they’d go to him and Nixonize him....

Would the USSC vote be unanimous or a party line vote?

Use the 14th Ammendment, raise the debt ceiling, deal with impeachment proceedings.

They won’t do this because it won’t help. It’s not raising the debt ceiling that markets are looking for, it’s that we have a plan to stop raising the debt ceiling.

If we just raise the debt ceiling whenever we hit it, there is no ceiling, and therefore no reason to believe we won’t keep borrowing until we can’t pay anymore. That is what will kill our economy.

Bill Clinton suffered nothing to his life style as a result of his impeachment.

He still lived the high life before impeachment, after impeachment and until this day.

The dems don’t give a sh*t about symbolism and trials. Money and power is all they are about. And pretty much the same with the Stupid Party.

The only thing Obama can’t shake off at this stage is high unemployment. Against this hard fact, the debt ceiling game is an easy layup with 14th Amendment crap fouls and “So Impeach Me!” juvenile refrains.

Already Bernanke is talking crap about selling off 1.6T in treasuries the Fed holds to fund Fed government and Dem cronies.

I see the Tea Party getting stubbed in this game. They better think better than the Stupid Party or hold a mass rally of 10 million or 20 million including massive more on the mall. And they better stop playing nice and start doing something to get themselves arrested with jails overflowing with TP members.

The revolution needs a spark.

The Constitution is dead.
