The alleged mass murderer who killed nearly 100 people in Norway on Friday may be facing just 21 years in prison if convicted. Norway does not have the death penalty.

Oslo police chief of staff Roger Andresen told the San Francisco Chronicle that the maximum prison term suspected killer Anders Behring Breivik could face is 21 years under Norwegian law. Police are labeling the attacks as acts of terrorism, according to the Wall Street Journal.

They haven’t heard of consecutive sentences in Norway?

Assuming there is no statute of limitations for murder, they should withhold charging him for all the murders, and then 20 years from now charge him with another for another 21 year term, if he is still living after that, charge him with another, etc.

Let’s hope he doesn’t get the Casey Anthony jury, or he won’t even serve the 21 years!

Now that's funny..:=)

“They haven’t heard of consecutive sentences in Norway?”

Yes, even with those flimsy Euro sentences you’d think it would still allow for this.

But I like your idea, hopefully some bright young thing over there is READING THIS SITE RIGHT NOW.

At least he admits to the murders.

Omoslem buys guns with our tax money, then sends them to Mexican/Honduran drug lords so THEY can murder people.

Then, Omoslem denies any knowledge.

In this way, Omoslem is a bigger scumbag than the Norway shooter.

He is 32 + 21=53 I wonder what he plans for the golden years?

He'll probably retire on a government pension.

Liberalism in its purest form.

Exactly!

Liberal: Bu, bu, but, he came from a dysfunctional family, he's a victim of society, we can rehabilitate him, send him to counseling, give him mind-altering drugs to make him better, we can.......what, he's white?

Fry him, he's probably a tea partyer...

People think thats too soft, here in the USA if you are Muslim and are responsible for jetplanes flying into buildings killing 3000 people, the Attorney general will demand you get a civilian trial so you can be freed for having your Constitutional rights violated even though you are a foreigner and an enemy combatant.

In NYC it would be 2nd degree murder.

No it would be first degree. The two separate incidents (bombing and shooting) would make it first degree. The terrorism angle would also make it first degree.

Unless he decides to end it himself, he will definitely make it in their prison system. In order to keep him safe he will probably have his own wing and their prisons are already easy, so doing time won’t be any sort of punishment either. When he’s released they will give him a new identity and probably arrange for him to end up somewhere else in the EU.

Thanks, I thought we all had a big discussion a few days ago and murder 1 in NY was only for cop-killers, guess I read it wrong.

Definitely killing a cop is murder one but there are other ways. In addition to the two others I mentioned above, killing a judge, killing a witness in another crime to prevent testifying, killing while incarcerated, killing for hire, torture killing and others are murder one too.

Just killing a run-of-the-mill citizen because you feel like it second degree.
