Thanks, I thought we all had a big discussion a few days ago and murder 1 in NY was only for cop-killers, guess I read it wrong.
Definitely killing a cop is murder one but there are other ways. In addition to the two others I mentioned above, killing a judge, killing a witness in another crime to prevent testifying, killing while incarcerated, killing for hire, torture killing and others are murder one too.
Just killing a run-of-the-mill citizen because you feel like it second degree.
