One can only imagine what they would have done if someone sang a bit of this:

Dumb cops, dumb cops, what Ya gonna do,

what Ya gonna do with a low IQ .........

this has got to be the least bad police-done-bad video on the internet. You must have been part of this to post this?

There aren’t too many situations that the cops cannot make worse.

I definitely side with the cops in this kind of stuff. It’s absolutely imperative for them that they command respect from the public. Hear the guy taking the video laughing? What does he think is so funny?

“This ain’t right,” he says. You ain’t right, pal.

It’s hard to tell how this started. I wasn’t able to hear the song referenced. But he didn’t get arrested for singing, seems to me. I thought I heard him being arrested for interfering with police business. Speaking of which, red-shirt is really lucky he didn’t get arrested too. And both of them are lucky they didn’t get popped in the mouth. Times have changed. Lady-in-white knew what’s up, even if these guys didn’t.

I can’t decide who’s the bigger doofus, the moron taping it or the dimwit who got arrested.

It’s absolutely imperative for them that they command respect from the public.

Then it’s imperative that they act respectable.

Times have changed.

Lichtenberg drastically puts it when he says, "Where nowadays one says, 'I beg your pardon,' formerly one had recourse to a cuff on the ear."

By acting respectable, do you mean that they should tolerate open mockery from people on the street? This is not what is meant by commanding respect.

You believe a citizen should be beat down and/or arrested for calling a cop a dumbass?

Union thugs are thugs, and some we find out wear a badge.

Respect is earned. Swaggering around like a bunch of dumb ass union thugs with guns does not earn respect. You somehow think that because they union thugs have badges they should “command respect”. I think that the moronic job that cops do should be ridiculed, until defunded and reformed.

The emperor has no clothes!

A policeman earns his respect by becoming a policeman. He is henceforth issued a badge, a uniform, and most notably a gun, and stands as the embodiment of civil authority in any and all situations. As far as I am concerned, this authority is ultimate, with respect to the command of respect and obedience in the field. When I have intercourse with a cop, I am a mouse, mindful of my position. Those who feel the desire to oppose their authority through jokes or jeering or any other means will get no sympathy from me when they get their comeuppance.

My position is that of a full citizen, not a mouse whimpering in front of the King’s men. A full citizen does not insult, but also should not fear the law. The law causes fear in these times because it is unjust and unpredictable and enforced without thought.

You believe a citizen should be beat down and/or arrested for calling a cop a dumbass?

A true life incident relayed to me second hand: A college kid shuffling out of a nightspot in a university town sees a cop at the door and intones, "Heyyyy, Po Po." He is summoned by the crook of a finger, and spends the night in jail.

I got no problem with that.
