This message brought to you by your local communist ELF network. Let’s all go back to the stone age and wash oil off shore birds. Remember! No wearing anything leather, strict vegan (I wonder how the plants feel about that after all they are living organisms!) and tune up that bike for your 40 mile commute. Suck it up for ELF while they burn out car dealers and bomb research labs! All us rich guys should support these shiftless bastards who have never worked a job in their miserable lives, never paid taxes, have outstanding warrants for arrest, and live off the public dole!

As much as the Democrats would love to see Americans pay European style taxes, we don't. Not yet. So I don't give a rat's ass what they pay over in Europe.
Sarah Palin's ill-informed Facebook rant
And why was this dolt claiming that Sarah Palin's Facebook post was "ill-informed"?

Inspired by Cord's thought-provoking post Start your argument with a lie, you lose the debate.
There was not a single thought in this whole waste of bandwidth.
This whole article is pure emotion based drivel.
If the author had bother to THINK, for even a heartbeat, he would of realized the sheer idiocy of comparing the USA to countries that are smaller then many of our individual states.

Personally, I'm not one to wallow in guilt trips, and I really don't give a damn how high gas is in whereever...I give a damn how high gas is in America. That's where I live. That's where I was born over 65 years ago and I've seen it rise from 17-cents a gallon to over $4, with monumental jumps everytime the democrat party gets into power.
Those other countries have had over 200 years to look and see what we were doing and give it a try, but they sat back, hands out for foreign aide, and cow-towing to their leaders and government.
When I was in Germany from '65 to '68 as was outrageously expensive then, something like $2.50 a liter...that's a LITER. So it hasn't risen that much in over 40 years.
I don't subscribe to the "be Europe first" crowd, we periled life and limb hundreds of years ago to flee those oppressive governments, and I see no reason to hop back in their wagon because someone feels "guilty".
If we tap our own reserves, we would have plenty of gasoline for a long, long, long time and it would be cheap.
Let's start in 2012 by getting rid of the kenyan, and as many democrats as possible and try to remember for the next 100 years to leave the democrats out of the equation...they mean destruction to the United States.

An odd trend seems to be that the most of countries that have gas prices under our own, are those same countries that so many politicians routinely cite as "evil" or "undemocratic." Does Sarah Palin want our oil economy to be more like Iran and Venezuela? Savor trhe most moronic piece of text you will encounter for quite a while. Let's see. Iran and Venezuela are despotic states with cheap gasoline. What else do they have in common? Something having to do with gasoline. Hmmm.

Just taking Netherlands for example, the total tax on gasoline is about 69% of the price, making the price without taxes about $2.83 per gallon.
In the USA, the average amount of tax on gasoline is about $.52 per gallon. That makes the average cost of gasoline per gallon in the USA a little over $3.00, using the figure in the chart.
That throws a pretty mean curve ball to the chart, doesn’t it?

Well well well..Lets talk about the Euro and how well their VAT tax is. And that, is why they pay so high in prices.
This is the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. I dont care what the “F” they pay. That. is. their. problem.

OMG, you are comparing our gas prices with their bits of tax to Socialist who have both tax and the cost of their free health care added to their gas price.
Not a rational comparison.

It's disgusting and if gas prices had doubled under Bush/Chenny the media screaming would be unbelievable.
But here's another way to look at it.
Gas is less than 20 cents a gallon... if you pay in silver coin. Actually two Roosvelt dimes should get you a gallon of gas and about a buck fifty in change!
Silver Coin Calculator
Very eye opening if you look at the prices of goods and services in terms of the value of traditional US silver coin. Really drives home what the Fed has done to us. Interesting times indeed.

We can find sources of cheap energy and fuel or we can sit in the dark and huddle together in cities near our work, and abandon our cherished way of life.
What Europe does and what dictators do are their business.

I could care less what the foreigners have permited their govenments to charge them for gas. They deserve what they have permitted.
Europeans took a soaking after falling for the International watermelon global warming scam. If they are that stupid, they deserve it. They had plenty of warning about the scam from the US but thought they were “smarter.”
“Smart” people like that pay out the whazoo for gas.

Truly “free” men don’t stand for this nonsense. energy...God’s gift to his people, is available in prolific amounts in the USA.
The DC overlords understand that “free” access to energy liberates men from Federal dependency. And if they can’t tax the air you breath, tax the bejesus out of your children and grandchildren to fund their Federal fascist fantasies, then by God...you’re GONNA shut up and pay your 8.00/gallon...with a 4.00/gallon Federal Tax.
It is long past time due for the servants in DC to be reminded for whom they work.
