I recall stories saying that global warming was going to be good for the grapes as long as they can get water.
epic fail
Wine vines are dormant during the winter. As long as there was no bud break yet, the freeze will not affect wine production or quality IMO.
Where is chocchipcookie with the survivalist ping? In addition to non-perishables and water, I now have to stock up on booze. Thanks obama!

Gore gave it back to us in Florida. He has been mad at us since we elected "W".
He made it extremely COLD here for a long time. Now it's warm again. He takes credit.
It has been rather cold in Wino country.
We have been asked to provide high end coats, blankets and a good bottle of Cab or Merlot to help the less fortunate get through the frigid nights.
Some of the less fortunate became wino snobs before the melt down and often will refuse a bottle of Cab or Merlot unless it retails for over $50/bottle. It is rumored some come down from their underwater McMansions, which haven’t had a mortgage payment for years to ask donations of good wine and full course dinners from the 5* restaurants invading the county.
So, they sadly huddle with their Postcard, Jet Set, Hell is for Heroes, and Napapirji, Phenix and Karbon skiwear, wear, Coach purses, Coach bags or totes waiting for a free high end Red Wine. They still proudly wear their Rolexes and refuse to sell them because of the ego damage that would do to their pride.
The final insult is having to park their luxury Euro cars in public parking lots and walk to the restaurants, since the Valet parkers refuse to do any more charity parking for them.
To make it easier to donate to them, they now take American Express Gold Gift Cards.
Ping!
Yum......Ice Wine
When given lemons, make lemonade.
Maybe these wineries can quickly revamp and turn out grape slushies and popcycle sticks for adults.
Going to be a lot of wino’s ticked off when the price of Night Train increases.
