Only 9 days for the dreaded “N” word?

Somebody call the Justice Brothers, an evildoer is getting a pass.

Teacher’s unions are evil... afaik, they promote abortion on demand. They are so brainwashed, they don’t even realize they are promoting the killing of their future students.

This lib woman teacher said the N word and she teaches in Passaic, NJ? I hope she has a flak jacket. Passaic is a lot like Detroit or Camden NJ.

Teacher’s unions are especially evil because they are the only type of union which takes, as its central, principle the absolute full and unquestioned support of any member regardless of how incompetent they are at their job.

Other unions, many of which are despicable, do recognize that if a person cannot do what he is being paid to do, they can’t let him hang around forever. Not so teachers. Once you’re in, you’re set. You will never be fired as long as you show up every day, mumble, wander around, etc.

Passaic is a lot like Detroit or Camden NJ.

In 1966 I traveled some 800 miles for a job interview in Passaic. On the way to the corporate headquarters I walked by townhouse after townhouse that had the street floor barricaded with steel bars. By the time I got to the headquarters I had made up my mind: I wasn't going to work and live among these people.

No telling what that city is like now.

It's all due to the ridiculous notion that tenure is required at the elementary and high school level for teachers. This creates the environment that you describe. I have nothing against tenure at the University level where PhDs are expected to push the envelope to expand the body of knowledge in their respective fields but no such expectations exist in K-12 education.

Given the context - she was quoting another teacher - it seems woefully unfair for her to be punished.

I guess she did the only thing her union wouldn't defend her for - which is ridiculous.

I'm surprised the school boards aren't going after the video taper for violations of union/governmental confidentiality.

I wouldn’t object to see tenure eliminated for colleges and universities. After all, although Ward Churchill had falsified his vitae and had plagiarized another person’s artwork, he had tenure and it took extraordinary effort to fire him. IMHO tenure allows a lot of slackers to get a free pass.

I did not see anyone on that video I would want teaching my children! What are the laws like regarding home school in NJ?

Maybe she is being punished for being critical of the other teacher. One of the biggest crimes of the education system is to take tons of money for an inner city school district, yet write off the kids because they are inner city residents. Use the excuse that they are “under so much pressure from racism and poverty and blahblahblah”, yet the administrators beg for more money and still essentially do nothing. I know the term is oveused and abused, but this is clear cut racism. And who are the racists? The liberal school administrators!

In 1966, Passaic was a garden spot compared to today. This was probably right around the riots or just after them.

It s*cks when you have to go to job interviews like that. You made the right choice.

Sadly, I’m not sure that is true. I know of one (government) union that has allowed an employee to remain on the job even when he has not shown up when scheduled numerous times.

New Jersey has perhaps the most relaxed homeschooling regulations in the country. No need to even notify the local district that you are doing it. The homeschool lobby in New Jersey shoots down any attempt to regulate homeschooling in any way; they are well-organized and the local legislators know it.

Our daughter is homeschooled now, and thank the Lord--I can't put out $7,000 every year for tuition.

We'd love to move to Florida one day. The only thing we like about Jersey is the homeschool laws and that we don't pump our own gas!

Thanks for answering. I live in NC and we homeschooled, I wondered what it is like in NJ.
I hope Gov Christie can straighten out the mess or at least make a dent in it.

Good move, staying out of NJ. That fascist place doesn't allow citizens concealed carry and will in fact throw you in jail if you are somehow caught in possession of a handgun in public.

Back during the Florio years NJ passed a law that required gun owners to turn in to the government anything that fit the loose definition of an "assault weapon". True story. You can look it up.
