Okay. I watched the event. I read the reviews, commentary and postings. I can take or leave Mr. Beck. Some of his shows are interesting but mostly in small doses.

I believe he has done well by bringing a long overdue measure of participation to the conservative/libertarian base. I also believe it's a bit insulting to those who already live their lives by Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, etc. values to say they aren't doing enough.

it was all a bit New Agey for me or perhaps a bit Millerite.

That's a fair criticism. To be even fairer, though, you have to say that about any politician or public speaker who says we must return America to its core values. Don't a lot of Americans already share those core values?

I guess I would answer that there's always room for improvement and that there's no way to speak about the need for improvement without making some broad generalizations.
