Here's what you'll find at the top of the ACORN Housing Inc. website.

President Obama formally announced this morning a new $75 billion dollar plan designed to help families prevent foreclosures and stabilize hard-hit communities. The Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan includes a loan modification program, which provides incentives for lenders to modify the loans of borrowers who are at risk of foreclosure because their incomes are not sufficient to make their mortgage payments. It also includes refinance opportunities for borrowers who are current on their mortgage payments but have been unable to refinance because their homes have decreased in value.

From very personal experience, I can tell you 100% truthfully that HUD enables ACORN on many fronts including the administration of so-called “equal housing tests” by which ACORN (or an affliliate) will file fraudulent claims of housing discrimination against rental propery owners using HUD’s encorcment powers. The outcome is usually a “financial settlement” (read legal extortion)with ACORN. The alternative is a star chamber court convened by HUD against offending landlords. HUD represents and enables ACORN through this whole process. A private citizen can do nothing (except hire an expensive attorney whose fees far outstrip what ACORN will accept as a “settlement”)against these people...legislators look the other way..and the corruption continues. Best wishes to all who are exposing this national scam and pray for their success in closing it down.

I wouldn’t have problems with HUD if it actually helped house the poor. Unfortunately its just another democrat scam program.

Locally, millions of HUD dollars went into building an “art colony” with money left over. Now they want to use the left over money for seed money to attract stimulus funding for a river arts walk.

What HUD does with this shakedown is absolutely despicable. I am shocked that this receives so little media coverage.
