Deathis cheaper

It is well known that most of a person’s medical expenses occur near the end of life. So a medical system that really wants to control costs has an easy target: when people get seriously sick, let them die.

When I was young medical care was cheaper … a lot cheaper. It was also a lot less effective. For you youngsters, old people like me retired at 65, got a gold watch, were put out to pasture which lasted perhaps two years. The people who attended your retirement party attended your funeral a few years later.

Heart disease or pneumonia or cancer took you away and the care that you received was bed rest until you died.

With the advent of modern technology and medical procedures, we are now able to repair hearts, lungs, livers and kidneys. We can replace crippled limbs, hips and knees. We can scan the body to discover ailments that left the last generation of physicians puzzled as their patients died. With all these wonders, how can a society that promises universal health care at no “cost” to you control the cost of providing you all these services? Simple: the wait list.

Limiting the supply of services, (we have to control costs somehow) but promising their delivery has an easy and cheap solution. The cost of putting you on the wait list means that death, the cheap answer to controlling health care costs, will take you before the expensive treatments need to be delivered.

That’s the answer to the medical cost problem in Canada. If universal health care is enacted in the US, it will be the answer here.

It would also solve the social security budget problem

0bama will simply deny his opponents health care. He closed down car dealers who were GOP donors so it isn't a stretch at all that the would take this approach to health care.

It is going to be the answer regardless I fear.

There is no way the boomer generation can afford to receive the care they are used to when they start hitting the end of life in large numbers. There just isn’t enough resources.

I fear what is coming. When Man shoves God out the door, he lets in a whole lot of monsters.

That is so good, I added it to my essay.

Perhaps Biden will tell us that dying is patriotic.

Re: GM closing dealers who donated to Obama

Would he deny health care to GOP donors? Would those who donate to the Obama Party be bumped up the list?

This is of course the simple reality of why health care is more expensive now than it was a half-century ago but no one will accept that it costs a lot of money to keep people going and in good repair after the warranty wears out.

Really!?

The author is not describing a World I knew back when. I was raised by people that were retired long before I was born, and were still around to see me off to S. Korea, and support my overseas duty with letters, and cookies and such from home the entire time I was in the military.

Most all of my relatives, my family lived into their ninties, some into their hundreds without Obama and the Democrats Healthcare.

Soylent Green?

Taking over health care, with potential to control geriatric care could, in fact, have implications across a wide spectrum of the population. New ‘industries’ to cope with the soon-to-be-untreated seniors, expansion of geriatric care facilities, and the consequent positive impact on SS and Medicare if fewer folks require their services...all are potential outcomes of the highly touted 0bama-care pogrom.

Welcome to Utopia! Here’s your Soylent Green for the day...

Oh, yeah? I think the appendectomy I received in my 20's was pretty effective...doubtless allowing me to live long enough to die from something else. Hopefully, I will have the good sense to expire before I become too much of a burden.

Not only that, I think it's more effective to set a broken limb of a younger person rather than an old fart. But, what do I know?

This guy must've been reading 0bama's Health Care Plan.

Let's see - we are told that it costs more to execute a murderer than to keep them in prison for life. On the other hand it is cheaper to "execute" the ill and infirmed than to treat them.

0bamanomics?

He also made the FDA an offer they couldn't refuse and frightened them into attacking Rush's sponsor, Zicam.

I believe he would. And this is exactly why government should be removed from the financial side of the health care industry.
