Because, you know, the people, you know, need to, you know, support the selection of, you know, Hillary’s replacement. New Yorkers haven’t completely given up on dynasty politics, though, as Andrew Cuomo becomes the beneficiary of Caroline Kennedy’s collapse (via Cuffy Meigs): Caroline Kennedy’s popularity has suffered a “clear hit” as a result of her public campaign for Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Senate seat, while Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s positive ratings have shot up, according to a new poll.

Cuomo is a better choice than Kennedy as far as the Democrats are concern. I think that Cuomo would be a better bet to win the Senate seat in an election since he has experience running for a state wide office and Kennedy doesn’t.

Having said that, I hope Patterson picks Sweet Caroline. I think that Republicans could beat the “you know” Princess.

Here is something odd - the wiki translation of the thing omits “quo”. Well, it also omits “et”, but that is understandable when one is carving on a rock.

SetPQuoA

I’ll say it again: the Kennedys are like the Bonapartes of France. Because on member of the family was talented, they think they all should rule.

"You know, I'm not sure why my numbers are, you know, plummeting and stuff. It's like, you know, a hard question to answer. I mean, I lived in the White House and I'm, you know, a Kennedy.....you know?"

I say, if Paterson gives Andrew Cuomo the nod, does that mean that sister Kerry Kennedy might think it advisable to remarry him? We’ve already learned how much she hates losers.

SPQR = Senatus Populus Que Romanus (if my Latin from 50 years ago serves).

Nowadays, SPQR can mean "Siempre Potenti Questi Romanisti," or "Sono Porchi Questi Romanisti," The former is a positive assessment of the AS Roma Serie A soccer club (Forever Powerful These Romans"; the latter is an insult hurled by Lazio fans at their Romanisti enemy fans: What pigs these Roman fans are. A little Italian soccer lore here.

S P Q R

“Senatus Populus que Romanus”

“The Senate and the People of Rome”

Motto of the Roman Republic. Lasted 600 years before due to repeated civil war and corruption it was replaced by the Empire.

Ms. Kennedy may have bought into all that Camelot crap...both times.
Her Mama knew better and tried to steer her kids clear of Washinton DC.
